For a Challenge car. Anyone know of any?
Amd thinking that I threw one away a couple of years ago. Mine came out of a V6 Camry and was attached to a 3S-GTE in a fwd '87 Celica.
Those came in the V6 Camrys and second Gen MR2 turbos.
Just an fyi, the castings are the same. I run both on the Celica as we broke the Camry one and replaced it with an MR2 Turbo (My statement above is incorrect, I threw away an MR2 tranny).
The camry had the linkage coming out the back, which worked great with the Celica. When I got the MR2 Turbo transmission, we had to swap the linkage and it was a piece of cake. The worst part was that we did not have anything to cover the hole left by removing the front linkage hole and we used a nickel and JB welded it in place.
I wouldn't hesitate to use either, just make sure you can source the linkage.

I might have to hurt you!
Believe me, I still regret it but I have no where to store it and no one wanted it. I saved the complete 3SGTE along with intercooler, ecu, wiring, etc.
What are you going to do with a 2zz and a E153?
Anyways, if you find a Camry transmission, I have the linkage, shifter cables, and an mr2 e153 housing to swap with a Camry housing.

You’ll know soon!!
Are you saying you have an MR2 e153, or just the case?
Just the case. I had a Camry e153 I was gonna covert but ended up selling it as is and using an S54.
It's been a while since I had an MR2, but doesn't the 2zz share a bellhousing pattern with the 4age, and the 2.2 (5sfe?) E153 is different? Are you planning on running an adapter?
Until I remembered the 2zz part I thought for sure he was prepping a BP+T powered BG chassis an the E153 swap is popular for them.

Gee, that’s too bad. I thought you might have an E153. Didn’t realize dissecting my project would hold so much interest for you!!
