I'm not sure if this is the best sub forum, but I need some advice on how to paint over scratches.

I have a 2019 Miata with the Soul Crystal Red color. The Mazda paint code is 46V. A few days ago I was pulling into a parking spot and went to far and hit the curb. It left several scratches on the bottom of the front bumper which you can only see if you get on your knees and look, but otherwise, the paint on my car is pristine, so I'm sure all of you know how much it irritates me knowing it's there.

There is also another scratch a little higher up directly above the the left front splitter that is worse than the bottom scratches. The bottoms scratches are very light.

So, yesterday I took it to a paint shop thinking that because it wasn't very bad, they might charge a few hundred dollars maybe even up to $500, which I would've been fine with. These people wanted $990. I said thanks, but no thanks. I found a color coded kit on touchupdireect.com that includes the primer, base and clear coat for $117.

I want to sand down just enough to smooth out the scratches and then repaint. There are also scratches on the front tips of the black plastic front splitter but I figure it should be easy enough to sand those down and just use black trim paint on those.

Does anyone have any advice on how to do this. I've never painted a body panel of a car and honestly, I'm not that worried about it looking perfect since it's in a location that no one will really ever see anyway. I've included photos of the scratches.
