I've ended up with (sadly) like 8 spare car seats of various makes and models in my shop. Being a mild to moderate packrat, I just stack them on a high shelf, but I always say I'm going to put them on a rolling base, or a barstool base, and I just never do.

Feeling motivated to finally take this on this winter, mostly to make shelf space for more seats, haha... Any motivational examples of something similar y'all have done?

I like the idea.  I have a rear bench seat top and bottom I was kicking around mounting to the garage wall like the below.

I had an extra mr2 spyder seat and mounted it on a rolling base for a shop seat. It doesn't get a lot of use but it's cool.

What I've found is that if I've got a seat I just got done cleaning that I'm waiting to swap into a car, that's the seat that every dirty ass that walks into the shop wants to sit on. Figure I'll give them something that's hopefully more enticing.

I've got leather from a super duty Ford, an e46 and leather and suede base model CTS seats that are all viable options for this effort. Figure I'll go with the e46 first since they're basically worthless (not a sport seat or anything). The CTS seat is also basically worthless, but I figure that center suede insert will quickly look like E36 M3. Plus they're nice enough that I have dreams of them one day being in a cobbled together 66 c10 or something.

A lot of these look inspired by the set chairs on the old Top Gear UK.

I like that one as it looks to be half a futon frame you can snag from a trash day hunt.

My shop stool is a duct taped up office chair but with the back cut off. It has been rolling around the shop for 15 years.
