Hi all.

I've got a question I'm hoping I can get some help with.  I'm working on a complete teardown of a 1991 Lotus Esprit that is in terrible condition.  Most of the non structural metal fasteners are either rusted to the point of no return or on their way to that point.  I'd like to replace them as I come across them with stainless to prevent this sort of issue again but in many cases it would be attaching a new stainless nut to an existing non-stainless bolt or stud that's affixed to the chasis.  Is this not recommened due to the concerns of galvanic corrosion?  Should I use stainless anywhere the chain is complete stainless and use regular steel elsewhere?

I'll post the thread of this project in the other forum.

Thanks.

if you are going to use stainless invest in good quantities of anti seize. as far as galvanic action, I do not believe it is a major problem unless an electrical connection and water are involved.
