I was at the local u pull it yard and I spotted a fairly nice looking red sporty car. The engine was probably bad because the body was in great shape. I looked inside and saw that the seats were worn but looked to be in good enough shape to be recovered. I checked the  condition of the foam and it was solid. A quick Google search and I found out that the seats were in fact Recaro. I also found out I could buy all leather replacement seat covers for $350.  So I had to make them mine!

I checked out the mounting situation and I know why the seats were still in the car ... The screws were inverted Torx. Who carries inverted Torx sockets to the junk yard? Well, this guy! I did have to run out to the truck and dig the sockets out of my "nice to have with me" tool box. but 20 minutes later I had them at the cashier and they were heading home with me.

This is the better of the two seats, weirdly the driver's side. On the other seat the perforated panels are in worse shape but the bolsters are in really good shape. I am in the process of tearing the seats down and I have an email out the company that makes the replacement covers asking about what is included in their covers.
