I'd like to find whoever was in charge of the AI in this game and strangle him. I'm on my 30th (at least... I lost count long ago) try of the A Class World Tour race at Hockenheim. Usually, I can't get past the first corner without the AI ramming me and hurting my car enough that there's no way I can finish in the top half. I finally got a clean getaway, only to have the 2nd place car veer wildly left as I tried to pass him on his left. Almost saved it, only to have the fifth place Viper t-bone me at about 100mph. Good thing the online is so excellent...

I read that the offline AI "talent" is tied to your level. You may have better luck coming back to that event when you're at a higher level, or there may be a setting in preferences that you could tweak.
I'm at level 37 right now. In an A Class World Tour event, I would hope they'd be about as good as they're gonna get!
I finally had to turn the damage off, that way they could beat and bang on my Morgan all they wanted as I passed them. But then I lose out on credits that way...
I noticed that too . . .freakin crash fest at the start of the races
In other news, Forza 4 Pics and Movies is a landing . . .

I wish my (few that i have) friends had were into Forza, so i could do Rival mode. But to be honest, i'm not very competitive so i guess it's no big loss.
That's a big part of why I like it...they serve up a rival who's just a tick faster than your best time. Of course, it's more fun to beat someone you know, but in any case there's someone to chase down.
You can also join the GRM club and face off on times against us. We've got a pretty good spread of speed and talent, though racerfink is still and will be one of the fastest of us. I'm happy to finish in the top half against the board. Luckily so far I am towards the top.
Just finished playing another hour and ten minutes. And man, WTF is up with the AI? They're out for blood! T-boning, PIT maneuvering me, blocking the whole track, awkward braking, smashing into me. They're out for blood! I couldn't image having damage off of cosmetic. It's a destruction derby until you break free from the mob at the beginning of the races.
Yeah, I got some good game time in last night.
1) The AI is brutal. I just did the season finisher at Suzuka, and the Audi TT in front was brake-checking me every single corner. And by that I don't mean just slowing down in my line, I mean getting in my line and jamming on the brakes. And I've never seen a computer make so many offs... it was awesome! There was nothing I hated more than Gran Turismo's land train of computer controlled cars that NEVER screwed up EVER.
2) King Cobra and GMC Syclone. ZOMG awesomeness. You can't understand how happy I was to see that crappy little tarted up Pinto, buy it for $5k, and then blast around Sears Point with it.
3) The kinect head tracking is pretty freakin' awesome once you figure out where to sit in front of the camera and that your Ikea chair's headrest is being picked up as part of your head.
4) The king of the mountain races are a blast. Taking an S13 and chasing down a hachi blasting down Fujimi Kaido in traffic is some of the most fun I've ever had in a racing game. I was living the Initial Dream, hahahaha.
I think I found my new favorite car...1968 Dodge Dart...you know, the factory Hemi SuperStock drag race special. With enough tire under it and a decent suspension, it's a freaking BLAST. I'll load it into the club garage tonight.
So, now that we're all getting a few races under our belts, should we open discussion on a league night/rules? Here are a few ideas I've had-
B-spec cars (Mazda2, Fit, etc... tuned to D350)
Vintage Trans-Am (Dart, Mustang, Camaro, Javelin, Firebird, Cougar, etc... tuned to A500)
Vintage Euro sports cars
Spec Syclone?

Hey, did you go with the Javelin instead of the Boss 429? If so, when you get connected to live I will send you a Boss.
Not there yet, I'm only Level 3. I'll take you up on that though if you want so I can get the Javelin!
Consider it yours!
Excellent! Because I made that achievement this morning and took the Javelin. In Red.
Vintage Trans Am is a must-have!
Also, what do I have do to my Mazda2 to make it B-Spec? I haven't upgraded at all yet since I wanted to get in on that GRM action.
Jav - you do know that you could've just bought a Javelin, right?
Or are you the type that tries to get as far as you can through the game without buying a single car? That's what I usually do, but when I saw the King Cobra, I just had to buy it, hahaha.

I assume you found the background tuning. It works great once you get it. Even in the dark.

Yeah, I know I can buy it. And I probably will. Multiple times.
But yeah, I try to avoid ever spending money in games.

The easy way is to just use the one from the club garage. The hard way involves race tires, cage, maximum weight reduction, and a sprinkle of engine/driveline mods to bring it to D350. I'll try to write down the "recipe" sometime this weekend.
The tricky part about doing B-spec will be making the different cars genuinely (or at least approximately) equal. For the moment, the Fiesta is a super overdog for the class as built in FM4.

So give it a weight penalty. Or a tire penalty.
I got the king cobra my first night too, and promptly dropped the 2011 Mustang engine into it. Havent even driven it yet.

2011? I looked at the engine swap options, and the only thing it gave me was the 5.4L from the '00 Cobra R.
Do you have the collector's edition? That might explain the discrepancy.

Damnit, and here I swore to never buy another 360.

I've poked at it a bit, but the tire penalty is tough. All the cars should be on R-compounds IMHO, and the weight reduction levels are bigger steps than I'd like. We'll figure something out, but it may take some experimentation to get there.

You can use wheels for a more fine-tuned weight penalty. I know there's a complete list of wheel weights out there for F3, not sure if anyone's made one for F4 yet.
EDIT: The concept of bling-bling wheels being a penalty for a car being too fast is pretty high-larious to me, so there's bonus there, hahaha.
^^^ haha make them run 20 inch boat anchors. bling bling!

......I better check. I probably misread something on the menus which I am still getting used to. There was only 1 option. I have the standard version of the game, only 3 hours or so of play time so far. As soon as I realized the Affinity bonus I stopped playing with cars I had to actually spend money on.

I have LCE and it appears to be the '00 Cobra R. I too . . . have bought that king cobra
Sounds like we've got the affinity for another GRM spec series, and it even has a potential illicit sponsor, hahaha.
As long as there's no drinking of the King Cobra near any hotel hot tubs...
