I know have my white Miata in the game stickered up pretty close to my old real life one (purple Grand Sport stripes on both fenders). I need to make a Friends of PIR sticker for the tail panel. Too bad you can't take the spoiler off. Also, they have a poor substitution for Rewinds/Rota RB's/Minilites/etc, as the ones they have don't have a polished lip.
My Javelin has been repainted the proper red as well.
Hit Driver Level 50 last night. No more free cars...
IGN is reporting that user-hosted public online lobbies are back. Is this true?

I think i'd be disappointed if i reached that level this fast.

Reporting this now? Turn 10 made sure this was public knowledge six months ago!
I know I said I was going to stay away this weekend...but I got to level 50 when I got home from work.
The girlfriend was at her parents' place, what was I supposed to do?
just got Forza would someone add me to the car club?

I hit level 17 or so last night.
Tom, I spent WAY too much time trying to beat your lap around Infineon. When I finally did (by a full 3 tenths, even), it said my lap wasn't clean and didn't count... ARGH!.
But, I did get my King Cobra into the 11s... all my testing was getting mid-low 12s, but the run that counted I somehow managed to pull an 11.8 I wish I could get my launch better dialed in, though, I could probably shave another 3 tenths just by getting my 60' better... it's just such a pain to tune for 1/4. And drop me in the boat of people who have no freakin' clue how people are pulling 10.5s in that car.

It works the other way around. Send a request to [tgrm] and we'll get you fixed up.
I wasn't on nearly as much as I wanted to be over the weekend, but did spend a little time in rivals mode and demonstrating to a neighbor. Also, fought insomnia by building some more vintage Trans-Am cars...I've got an A600 Javelin that is pretty awesome.
Has anyone else had this problem? -- You have $286,000 and a couple exotic cars to mod. 45 Minutes later: $2,897. "I...just spent $284,000 modifying my ferrari and aston.."
I'm very frugal in real life. ..so wtf?
You are doing it wrong.
Buy the car, race it to gain Affinity, then upgrade it for near free.
In reply to failboat:
Why didn't i think of that? I'm born anew in your genius. :D

FTFY. Once you hit affinity level 4, the only upgrades that cost money are conversions and maybe aesthetics.
Yes it shouldnt take very long. Especially if you find a race that has an extra affinity bonus.
I like this because if you want moar free parts, it forces you to switch things up and try out different manufacturers as you go through the game.
Jealous... I told my wife that I'd let her get it for me for a Christmas present.
I haven't played for over 48 hours! Withdrawal!!!
XBOX took a dump, so I'm going to be waiting closer to christmas to play Forza 4.

I am liking the brand Affinity, the choices of prize cars, And how quickly you can earn credits. Of course I blew my whole pile on a souped up 635csi, only to realize if I earned my BMW Affinity, the upgrades would be free so I resold all the upgrades to recoup some funds and have the car ready to race in stock form. You definately dont need many upgrades (or any) to race in career, and if you just wait until you max out a brand Affinity before upgrading cars, you could play the whole career with free upgrades to your cars.
Please explain this brand Affinity deal. I'm debating on buying this.
Also, What's the best, and affordable, wheel/pedal setup? Any thoughts?

4) The king of the mountain races are a blast. Taking an S13 and chasing down a hachi blasting down Fujimi Kaido *in traffic* is some of the most fun I've ever had in a racing game. I was living the Initial Dream, hahahaha.
They let you race in traffic this time?!
I picked it up this weekend. I was pretty busy over the weekend so I didn't get a lot of time to play with it. But with what I have done I am impressed.
I also got the mad catz wireless wheel. I think I need to get a better mounting solution for it (I have been resting it in my lap, which sucks). My daughter loves the wheel and petal set. with the game pad she was always over controlling the car all over the place. With the steering wheel she instantly reduced her oscillation and started putting in something resembling a proper lap.
What are peoples thoughts on "simulation" steering vs "normal"?

1) If you played Forza 3, you remember that each car you had leveled up to a max of level 5? With Forza 4, instead of leveling the individual cars, you level up your affinity with a brand. So, because I race the crap out of my '93 Cobra and took the Ka as my first car, I've got like level 7 Ford affinity. Each level of affinity reduces the prices of upgrades 25%, and every level after 4 gets you a cash bonus.
2) For wheel/pedal setup, you get what you pay for. The cheap ones are crap, the good ones are expensive. It still burns my ass that Logitech and Microsoft refuse to get the G25/G27 working on the xbox.
3) Sort-of, hahaha. The traffic is slower cars going the same direction you are... there's not any oncoming traffic. They do a few different things with it, one is the king-of-the-hill races like I described, they also have passing events where it's just you and traffic and you have to pass X number of cars to clear the event, and there's multi-class races that will have, say, F-class and A-class cars racing simultaneously.
sexy time image that i stole from someone else
I am really curious about a wireless wheel they were demoing at Best Buy... anyone have any experience with these?
It's the xbox wireless speed wheel, and they seem to go for about $50.
In reply to Capt Slow:
Normal is supposed to be more like Forza 3. I use simulation. Rumor is that it does less autocorrecting in simulation mode.

I believe it was due to some kind of glitch; they will be wiping the drag boards soon.

Hey,
I should have requested it here instead of on the Forza 3 thread (I know, I'm a little slow). Is it possible that I can join the GRM team on FM4? I don't post on the forum but I'd like to play some "clean" games against experienced people online. Let me know!
