I'm probably going to be late again tomorrow :(

The 2002 is updated (v3).   I dropped the power to 140 hp and swapped the tires to allow street tires (semi slicks are still an option, I think the default).  They are still low profile modern tires, but at least they are street tires.

There is a model of the Prius available as well as a number of Miata's.  The NC does not appear to be available, but an NB could be easily modified for power.

I am not sure we are quite ready to do a personal car showdown yet.  Darwin still needs to provide one and I am not sure I am done with mine yet (I am having issue changing the skin on the Stinger, which isn't a huge deal I guess).  There is a Kia Stinger model available, which I believe he owns, just not sure it's a turbo:  https://assettoland.wixsite.com/assettoland/kia

I was quite disappointed to find that there isn't a Neon available for download.  I did modify the power curve, weight, wheelbase, and track of the Yugo to roughly match my Neon, though.  It seems relatively close from a power perspective but getting the handling right appears to be hard.

I just got AC installed on my PC last night and I got a wheel over the weekend so I imagine I'll be joining y'all sometime soon if there's room for another.

My cars are a lightly modded 99 Miata and a 12 Prius, so obviously I'll be racing the Toyota with y'all

If you are not on Discord set that up and welcome to the party!!!  More is always better!!!

Don't hesitate to at least jump in on Discord on race night or post here with questions on setup, in can be a bit confusing (most of what you will need and need to know are in the first two post of this thread).

Ya what Air said. Jump on discord and then join us tomorrow night around 9:00 eastern time and we can help you with setup and getting on to the server with us.

Of note it is best if you purchase the deluxe version of the game as it adds in a lot of content that we do tend to use. But if you don't I can take content out of the server that you don't have so you can get on and join in the fun. Just a simple server content edit (a couple mouse clicks) on my part so don't worry about it.

Speaking of content. I am thinking we should be considering other car options soon. Maybe go back to the group that had the E30 in it?  Or we can do some spec racing or we can make our own combination of cars?  Is there a 2000s hot hatch group that we could do/make?  Or go off the reservation and try some of those race trucks?

Some spec Miata seems like an obvious choice now.  We can see what others cars in that area are available.  We need to assemble some sort of classic Gran Tourismo selection at some point (e.g. 3000GT....).

I think O2 was researching 60's British touring cars, so we can always come back to them with a series (if we can all pick a car) on the actual tracks (which are likely available).

Then, we have the busses, the Reliant Robins... those might be good on the Top Gear Test track, which is available.

Spec Miata would be a very simple choice, and everything's available. My British touring car research didn't go much further than the link I posted, but I'll see if I can do some more digging tomorrow before we start. There's also a classic Trans-Am car set (circa 1970) from the same people who made the one we're currently using. At some point I'd also love to try pre-war open wheel and early post-war Formula 1 stuff.

OK, so maybe we do a quick, semi-test series with the Miata's.  Say 5 races?  We can play with point, handicapping etc.  This week can be for setup and play with the HC, and decide if we want to do anything with tires and fuel.  Also race length.  Two races?  Inverted grid on the second one?  Can we do that easily?  If we can't figure it out this week, we can push a week.

We can start at Laguna Seca, we just need 4 more tracks.  Mid Ohio, VIR, Road Atlanta, Road America...?

O2 clearly gets #55, I will take #23

I can start a new thread for the series, the first post will be race details and results, and keep the second for install info as it is now.

I don't have a Stinger.  I have a Soul, which I wouldn't wish on anyone for performance driving lol.

The easy button for one of my cars would be an AP2 S2000.  I don't know what the 'encrypted' file means here  https://assettoland.wixsite.com/assettoland/honda

I need to get into modding to play with some of these cars.  Most stuff I modify somehow and I want to make similar mods in AC.  Usually small power bump, stiffer suspension, and wider wheels/tires.  The S2000 I had a square 17x9 setup on, so it had a lot more front grip than stock.

The S2000 you linked to works fine (not sure if it will work on the server?), it seems like a really nice model (even a top up/down setting).  The encryption has something to do with the skin, so you cannot see the car in the showroom and I don't think the skin can be edited.  I put it up in the current content folder if you want to download it from there (the site it comes from is pretty slow).

It should be pretty easy to swap out tires to equalize the front and rear, if you want to do that.

I just friend requested prodarwin on discord. I also downloaded AC ultimate. I won't be able to join this week because I'm racing at the local sim studio but I'll be on next week. I'm still trying to get my g29 to work properly and I get the feeling this isn't the fastest process in the world.

Dean is using a G29, he can probably give you some setup tips.  I think he needed to use the Logitech Hub which is shown near the bottom of the second post and is available in the Assets Folder (also linked to at the bottom of the second post).

Thanks! I found ghub last night after I was limited to 180* of steering in AC and RF2. I'll follow the front page guide next time I fire it up.

it does look like Fanatec is announcing or releasing a lower price DD base today. I'm 99% positive I'll buy that so I get to to do all the wheel setup, haha

Thinking about the conversation we had last night regarding the "Everyman's Cup" car set, I thought it would be a good idea to start putting together a list of potential candidates, as well as talking about parameters in general.

Seems to me like a set of around ten different cars, give or take, would be manageable. My inclination is to focus things from say the early-mid 70s to the late 90s, but that's of course open to debate. We were talking about street cars only, which I think works well (especially if we run them all on street tires), and things that were commonly seen running around on-track in things like ITA/ITB racing as well as club driver's schools and track days.

With that in mind, here's a few suggestions to start with. My collection of cars is hardly extensive and this is anything but a solo effort, so others should add things so we can get a nice combined starting list that we can then pare down to the number we want. If we end up with enough, we could consider two lists, one for US market cars and one for those sold on the European market.

BMW E30 325i

Mazda RX7 FB GSL-SE

Mazda RX7 FC

Mazda NA Miata

Toyota AE86

VW Rabbit Mk1 GTI

(Volvo 242 Turbo)

(Saab 99 Turbo)

Porsche 944/951

Chevy Corvette C4

Pontiac Fiero

Alfa Milano

EDIT 25 Apr: Added RX7 FC, Porsche 944, Corvette C4, Fiero, Milano. Parenthesis on the Saab and Volvo indicate possible issues with the in-game model.

NOTE: I've only added cars for which I've found a model. If there's something you want to add that I haven't listed, please link to the model and I'll add it. Just trying to keep the list to things I know we can actually use in-game.

If anyone is looking for nominations for cars to add to the weekly mix, I nominate C5 Z06 found at assettoland.  It has been fun running some of the east coast tracks, I agree with someone's recommendation to add some of the top US tracks like Road America and Laguna Seca, would love to see more midwest tracks that I could reasonably do.
