Sorry re that I did not know it was dlc content.
It will be interesting to see if anyone else gets the glare effect I saw. Because of the time of year you end up with the sun in you face in the first part of the track. I think there might be a glare effect setting in the Custom Shader Patch, I will have to look into that. But apparently the shader patch does not prevent getting on the server. The SOL patch though (which is just weather and a much nicer looking sky) cannot be active, but is very easy to deactivate from CM.
I was reading up on that stuff, it appears there are some physics changes rolled into the shader patch (perhaps SOL), which explains why it would not be compatible with a vanilla server.
Any chance we could get an actual race going this week? :)
I'm very flexible this week. But in the interest of getting more people (nocones?), how about 10:00 EST on any of the following: 21, 22, 23, 24

The one thing I think we are going to run into pretty quickly is the same issue we have with PC2 sometimes. It's so focused on accurately re-creating some of these cars, in some classes, it replicates the fact that some of the cars are simply faster then others. Looks like GT and GTR are likely the only class we could run and not worry about that (certainly the reason why those are super popular online).
There is of course always the option of running same car races. The nice thing is, based on how the server is setup. We can run non-equal cars and use the handicapping feature to try and equalize them. We will just need to figure out what those handicaps are.
There are a number of free DL series we can use of course when we get to that. A coupe of well setup Australian race series, Classic Trans Am, Classic touring cars (those are not entirely equal), and some various Formula car selections.
At some point we can try to equalize some street cars, ala classic Gran Tourismo (and maybe use a GT track just for fun).
There is points based drifting (I don't think you can do that with more than one person), and interesting enough, drag racing. That could be interesting to try.
I am 100% ok running the same cars, or series where they are all pre-equalized for us.
I do think it is foolish to combine cars that aren't sanctioned by some body to be on equal footing, there is obviously going to be an overdog.
How about tomorrow night at 10:00. That is a bit late for me do I will probably be on earlier and practice some. I want to see if we can drag Matt in to this as well.
Race tuesday night starting at 10:00 eastern or so. E30m3 cars to start out with. Testing tonight and they are fun.
Game: Assetto Corsa
Server: GRM_TEST
For those that are not following along we will be using the discord set up here to alow us to talk during the race.
When is the room going to be open?
I think you can only do one "event", so you can either setup a very long practice session before, or maybe have another room just for practice that can be accessed at anytime.

We found some software last night that allows for many events, and even entire championships to to be scheduled on the server in advance. Pretty awesome. But yeah, not using that yet.
Dean can reset the server in real-time when we are on it, so it can just be left cycling through Practice, Qualifying and Race and reset when people are present.
Discord 'room' is open all the time obviously.
Steam sale engaged!
Ultimate edition is $7.93 on steam, picking that up shortly.
I wish I could give away my base version, but such is the digital gaming life. Base version is $3.99
Hey guys, I've been lurking on this thread well, since its origin . I didn't really have a good setup for my wheel and pedals (and they are low end at that) with my pc desk but my wife got me a fold away sim chair for Christmas, that I had to order off of Amazon to make sure I got the one I wanted (yay for Mrs Gunner!). Anyway I have good comms and AC ultimate and ACComp and I'd like to get together with you guys after the new year and have some fun. I know there is some downloads I will still need to get from the community but we can figure all that out.
In reply to gunner (Forum Supporter) :
First thing is to install the Discord app on your PC and then ask for an invite to the discord. That way we can talk. This works REALLY well as we can reset the server with out loosing anyone and if some one ahs a problem with content and can not get in to the server we can work it out in real time. It works REALLY well!!!
Then start joining in with us. We are for now just doing a casual race thing. Run a 15 min practice and 10 min qual and then a 2-5 lap race (depends on track length and how fast the cars are) There is no set time we may make Tuesday nights a thing but a the moment we are testing the server so the more people we can have join in the better. Typically we have been running one track and swapping cars. Last nigh we ran an e30M3, 80's audi AWD coup/hatch thing, a vintage lotus (maybe a 25 I don't remember)
The server is open now. It is set to just cycle. I think I left it with Alpha 155's as the car to practice with. For now we have been only using DLC content from the game so if you have all the AC add on packs you should be all set. AC with all the add on packs is on sale on steam at the moment for dirt cheep. Like less than $20 I think.
If you get on line the server is GTM_TEST for the moment I am letting it loop 24/7
Minor correction: the entire AC collection (ALL DLC included) is $8 on Steam now!
We are thinking of playing around with the Bridgehampton track soon. So if you can, download that (linked on second page).
As a reminder from the first page, it is highly suggested you get the Content Manage (small donation), sign on to Discord, and use your Discord login to get registered on the Race Department site (which has a lot of the extra content we will likely use).
As a future event I am thinking of (probably a ways off at this point): We all make versions of our current cars (race or street) in the game. This might take a bit of work in some cases, but you will get to have you car in the game (if there is a model of it, which there are a LOT). Then we create a handicapped race with HC obviously based on the performance of your car. I think it would be fun. I of course will likely use my Corvair (the Ghia would be pretty painfully slow).
Hmm. I have only owned 1 car that's in the game: NA Miata
Looks like I can get a Z32 mod car, although it will be a TT, not a NA. I wonder if I can tweak that accordingly.
Surprisingly, there is no S2000 in the game and I don't really see any downloads for one readily available, except for some time trial turbo body kit monster.
You'll need to log in to post.
