The original cabs have a unique control connector (JAMMA) and a unique video interface (YUV Component video, I think).
If you need a new monitor anyway, swapping out the monitor with a more standard VGA connector one will allow you to use one of these:
Should just plug into your JAMMA connector, monitor and power supply and go.
Using a VGA monitor allows you to go to a PC based system later also. Rewiring the controls for an iPac (PC controls) is not hard, just a lot of wires to connect.

That thing is kinda cool! It looks like an easy way to just plug and play if you have an existing JAMMA board.
My cabinet is Pre-JAMMA (I think) as it was built in '79. This would be a MAME machine anyway because I already have all the ROMS I need. I would have to completely alter the control panel because it cannot handle the inputs of most games. This is what it looks like:
It's a 2-direction joystick in the shape of a chicken head knob and a simple fire button. There's no way to play Street Fighter II on this thing.
