Argo had suggested a regular Sunday GT6 gathering. I believe he said 6:00 pm Central. I should be available, but I think I need to do the glitch to have money for car testing (I am not quite the maniacs you guys are) and so I can build some WOFF cars. I would not mind messing around with some Caterhams and Rockets (potential for first GT6 series).
I can do 6pm central. I usually have a friend's lobby open at some point most nights, too, if anyone wants to practice/race and I promise I won't pit maneuver you.
I just thought of some new spot race ideas-
AutoUnion streamliners at the kart space,
VW sambabus snow rally,
fully modified Countach's at LeSarthe (with or without chicanes, IDK) in the rain on comfort hard tires
Nissan Be-1, fully stock at the nurburgring.
Dukes of Hazzard muscle car rally
Any other ideas?
Well... we did test a bit of Veyrons pushing up-geared Kubelswagons around Sarthe...
Fully modded Caterhams are great fun in GT5. You might try those in GT6. Make sure to drive them from the cockpit view.
Veyrons pushing slow cars could be like a team competition, that would be cool
If they give us the open stadium for the course maker, we could have car soccer matches.
Someone would have to be the ball of course
If anyone isn't at the GT5 race and wants to practice some new tracks, I have a room up.
Edit- room closed

I haven't tried the caterham yet but I LOVE LOVE the rocket
Agreed on loving the rocket. It makes me think all cars should be small, light, and powered by high revving engines. It would make commuting more exciting.

I just beat the field in the GT all stars championship races by over 35 seconds to second place with the rocket
I did the glitch. Used the 20 mill to buy 20 AMG's. Glitched again and bought 360 mill of cars including some dup 20 mill cars that I could sell later if needed.
Saved my game before in case they somehow invalidate it. I should be fully set otherwise.
I like the struggling for money, but they still made it way too easy to "cheat" the races by using a car way out of line PP wise, so I don't feel to bad. I will still do the career, but I need to figure a good percentage of recommended PP to use for challenging race. Seems to be around %25 less.
I have been playing GT6 for almost a week and have the following impression:
-Computer AI drivers still suck. Sigh
-I still need to race with a handicap of PP of about 25-30% like Air said.
-I opposition to most posts here I actually find the dynamics of the cars makes it easier to catch slides. I like the new tire model.
-Force feedback is different and I am not yet sure if it is better or worse.
-I am not a big garage guy so my 15th anniversary set from pre order at GS is all I need.
-The best part of GT6 is the new batch of tracks. Silverstone is awesome as well as Bathurst.
This game isn't much an improvement over GT5, seems like GT5 with an interface mod or something, lol.....
I wish these games were on PC so modders could fix them. Still can't put wider tires on, engines sounds aer still bad, some cars look TERRIBLE, AI drivers have no difficulty adjustment, etc. One thing I liked about Forza is that you could tick a difficulty adjustment for the AI to mod their cars to your level. This game needs a feature like this and I would be OK with it.
I wish when a race said like 580PP that the cars you faced were near that level rather than clearly 100pp less. That just kills the game for me.
I'm still enjoying the game, as a time attack and driving on various tracks. As a racing game where you have opponents though it fails.

Yes, but the AI sucks in new and different ways.
I think the physics is a pretty good step up. On some cars, it is fairly easy to catch oversteer, on others (I'm looking at you Lancia Stratos) it is damned impossible. I know the physics is much better because I don't actually mind driving stock cars now. I hated them in GT5. They all drove like lethargic understeer machines, in GT6 they have personality and all require slightly different driving styles.
The highlight of 5 (and I suspect 6) is the GRM racing league. I'm going to try and make myself a participant again... at least some of the time. Let me float a few ideas for the first GT6 Series:
- Track toys: PP limited with the X-bow, GSX/4, Fireblade
- GT300 / GT500 Spec: There are "base" model for both classes available to be purchased and customized
- LCC Rockets

I have seen the AI race each other better. But they still just give up once you get within a car length of them. Not sure how that is supposed to be racing?
Yes the stock cars seem to be much more fun. I usually have raced my GT3/4/5/6 cars un modified unless I need to. In GT5 there was not much love of the stock suspension so it was on to the sport stuff out the box. In GT6 I like the differences between the Clio and the Focus. Fun to feel the cars act differently and somewhat more to what I imagine they would drive like.
One big gripe is that you can't adjust anything on the suspensions except for the full on Fully Custom one. Why can't we adjust Camber on the Race Soft and Race Hard suspensions?? Weird to have a race suspension with fixed 0deg camber.

Have you guys noticed the different tire feel of sport vs race tires? I felt like driving my rocket that when it went to race tires they accurately modeled the higher limits of grip but also faster breakaway tendencies

Rubberband AI is like a drug that Kaz Yamauchi just can't give up. It pisses me off that he is so blind to how bad it makes the game play. Instead of making the racing "more accessible", all it does is give you an impossible-to-gauge moving target to hit.
If the AI raced at a given level all the time, you could use your own discretion to find a car that gives you the perfect amount of competitiveness to fit your desire / driving ability. Instead, it really ends up just meaning that the car you pick is mostly irrelevant, because the AI is going to get restricted and/or boosted however much the rubberband algorithm arbitrarily thinks is appropriate.

The other thing it does that I have noticed is if you have not yet caught the lead cars nearing the end of the race, they slow down significantly! Someone online looked at the lap times in a race he was doing and noticed the AI car slowed 5 seconds a lap in the last lap!
It kills a lot of the accomplishment of winning these races. It's also the reason when they have those very strict challenges (e.g. Pass these cars within a lap and don't hit them) they are so much more enjoyable.
Not allowing cuts or ramming during the career would be nice also (I generally self impose that of course). Or, at least, maybe only allowing a max of two stars if you do.
What I have noticed is when AI is mid corner going a reasonable speed, they will jam the brakes at random. It makes passing in corner very easy (just take a wider line and wait for them to hit the brakes). It also make it infuriating when they run 3 wide into a corner and leave no room to pass, and then all simultaneously hit the brakes.
One thing I've done to make the races more exciting is using less grippy tires. I also tend to use classic cars as often as possible. For example, use a Europa for the British lightweights races instead of an elise. Keep the suspension stock.
so this uhh, rapid acquisition of monies. can i do it right at the start of the game?

BOOOO!!! Are those damn things still in there? Those were without a doubt the least enjoyable part of GT5 for me. They're so damn stupid and non-racelike. Those are just an exercise in being slowly and painfully forced to learn the AI's pattern so you can Pacman your way through Blinky, Inky, Pinky, and Clyde in a single lap.
These stupid challenges are still there and enduros are gone? I am dissapoint.

So the M4 Coupe is kind of a waste of cashish. You can't do E36 M3 to it beyond a few engine mods.

Yes. As long as you get the vision car right off the bat.

Oh yeah, if anyone is on and bored I have an open room on Big willow.
E: The Schwimwagen is fast now
I'm there. You're right, these Miras are pretty rocking actually. On demand tirespin is fun
Edit- had to leave, must do school work before class. I did learn I have to turn up the mic volume somehow or all I can hear is muttering. Also, I learned some people like trying to get air offroad at willow.

You can (you should be gifted the Merc). I would suggest building up a bit first. Maybe wait until you at least have the Int A license so you can go online.
It seems very unlikely they will be able reverse the glitched accounts, but it might be nice to have a backup that doesn't put you back to zero.
