There are not a lot of them. They are not really good racing of course, but at least they are a good challenge.

There is a Seasonal in GT5 thought that was a beast to win. I think it was the Lambo one at Tokyo, very hard to win.

Your best bet is to buy a cheap headset and just keep it muted if you don't want to talk.

With most games you can't hear anything over the game sounds.

I"ll keep that in mind next time i'm in best buy. I feel guilty blowing cash on gaming equipment though since I have a decent way around that with PC games (webcam with a good mic) but I may have to if people use talking instead of the text chat. FYI text chat can be greatly improved by plugging a USB keyboard into the PS3. When you start typing, the window opens and it's much faster than using a controller. of course, handwriting a letter and sending it via snail mail is almost faster than using a controller.

Also i'm surprised how fast the Mira is with race-hard tires. I was only 5 seconds or so behind the top lap time set by someone in some mystery car. I would vote if we do a race we use less grippy tires, though.

Yeah, I have a keyboard, dusty as it is. I wouldn't bother with best buy, bluetooth headsets for phones work with the ps3, and you can get one of those for next to nothing. If you don't want charging Walmart sells a usb headset that works pretty well.

thanks i'll look into that. I didn't know PS3 works with bluetooth, is that all PS3's or just newer ones? Mine's pretty old.

Is there a mic input on the DS3 controller? wondering if my xbox mic would work...

All of them. Before the Dog Nation attacked all of my headsets were bluetooths for phones.

Testing some muscle cars, I opened a friends only room if you want to join.

Edit: room closed.

FYI a lot of the muscle cars have similar times around Mount Panorama with the exception of those with terribly short gearing.

Oh awesome. The pics everyone was posting on GTP of the camino (and GT350) all had whitewall tires. Whitewall tires are stupid. White letter tires are awesome, and at least according to your pics they can be changed on some cars.

Also thanks for the R31 still looks pretty standard but doesnt look bad. Thats probably going to be my first purchase for drifty things.

In reply to failboat:

In most cases, cars with whitewalls usually get RWL tires when switching to race tires.

I, for the record, prefer whitewalls.

I hope the GT350 gets white letter tires too. because that is about my favorite muscle car evar.

I did it because the bastards made it hard to earn $ so we'd be more likely to buy $ from them (which is really sleazy imho). It worked perfect, no data lost. 2000gt wohoo! Here's me in a real one (stupid smile is from dream coming true!).

Note lack of squat in drift:

Lots of suspension going on here (I was hoping for some jacking effect though):

I'm loving the rear window closeup on the shelby. It does make the "standard" cars look even more like crap, though. Just imagine how many people they would need to get all of the cars modeled to that level of awesomeness.

Also the seasonal races aren't as richly rewarded as they are in GT5 but you can still make a good bit of cash (and prize cars) fairly quickly. One lap in a BMW gets you a free car and 100 grand. Not bad. The rest aren't as good, though.

The lead times are insane, though, or so I thought until I checked and they are all using skid recovering force, some have active steering set to strong. Seems like they should've shut all of that down. On the other hand, they are trying to make this more accessible to noobs, though.
