I do sports softs.
But then again, I rarely run race rooms, as I am content to screw around with everything I own.

I did a room that used the mandatory pit and different tire change setting. Race soft to race mediums. 15 laps at Bathurst. It was fun but some guy had the ringer car setup doing 15 seconds per lap over everyone else. It was supposed to be JSGTC cars and there was something else on track out front like a pagani hydra with maxed mods.
Also did some races with the BRZ race car. It is an awesome fun racing car at Suzuka and Spa.
Oh god the red bull goodwood challenge is impossible with a controller. I somehow managed a silver time, but that was pure luck and hundreds of attempts.

Yeah, i fiddled with all of the driving aids to try to pull it off. No such luck though.
Do you guys always run no TC and no ABS? Sometimes I run them in cars that have it in real life.
I prefer to run with no aids. But a Pagani Huyuara on Sport hard tires gets tough on the bumps of Le Sarthe. Spinning tires and resulting spins after getting 4 wheels off the ground on the straight isn't fun.
I run with everything off. Except some of the licenses, didn't want to take the time as I was just trying to burn through them.

That's how I roll, too.
I just fired up the game for the first time yesterday. Bought my yellow Fit and ran through the Beginner league with it in stock form (other than the bitchin ornage Volks I put on it). Also golded the Ib license and logged in to play a couple seasonals (won Mario's Hudson and some cash). Overall, looks pretty good from here.
I generally run how the car would be in real life. So old cars get no ABS (which is primarily what I use), new ones normally on, but sometimes I turn it off on less exciting new cars to get them to rotate better.
HunterJP wrote: Hey Spool... I left a little meat on the bone for you in the iB license tests. Couldn't get you in the electric car, but all the others.... Well, you have some work to do.
Your turn :D
I'm sure there's some sort of a "well duh?!?" answer out there for this one, but how do you add door numbers to race prepped cars? I did a few quick seasonal events (cheats on, sorry) and added a Shelby Daytona to the garage. I'm pretty geeked, except that it has big round white circles on the hood and door just beggin for a number, but I can't figure out how to add one. Please tell me I don't have to "unlock" the right to number my race cars.
There seemed to be a tab in the garage that seemed like it might be for a number change, but its a "dead link" right now. I can't figure out whether that's not the right way to number a car, if the Daytona doesn't carry a number or if I haven't unlocked numbering yet. I'll keep looking.
I was wondering the same thing about picking your number. I was doing kart races and all the AI karts had numbers and mine was blank.
Is it me or is it impossible to play this game well with a controller. I considered myself to be highly proficient with a controller on gt5, I suck out loud at gt6. Is this game made for steering wheel only?
I think so. I haven't got a wheel, so I'm controller only. After reading here about the Skid Force Recovery thing, I turned it off. The game is damn near unplayable in certain cars. I'm looking at you, Elise/Europa.
I think its pretty good on controller, I played my first 2 days on controller only at the in laws.
Although I could see how MR cars are a handful on controller, particularly the Europa. You have to drive it carefully with a wheel, but once you figure it out its pretty quick.
Still don't understand the front flip thing. On RS tires at the Ring I went over a jump then landed with brakes on and saw pavement fill the screen as I stood it up on the nose!!! It came down on the wheels and was even slowed down for the corner. Also did a barrel roll at Trial Mountain.

Same here.
Roommate got a PS4 and COD Ghosts last night. Pretty fun to play. Might not make it over to my parent's to play GT6 as much now.
Getting ready to open up the Super class in career mode. Haven't had any trouble with the controller so far. Haven't put a car on its nose yet, either. But, HOLY Crap, what is up with AI cars cutting you off or just driving down the middle of the track? And Jeez, Nascar games have had 43 cars since the PS1 days, but we're still doing 6 and 10 car races in GT6 on the PS3? I think we can do better than that. I really need to just bite the bullet, quit screwing around, and buy a steering wheel and surround sound. The way to change or put a number on your car or kart is in the garage area, left side of the 1st page, at the bottom of the list. It's not available for all cars though.
