I tried out one of the new seasonals at lunch. The BMW one is a serious exercise in Maximum ABS Braking. I suspect the Ferrari FXX one will be a bit deadly.

Sadly it was another tuning challenge. But, at least they are better the the old "chase the rabbit" style. Although I did enjoy doing those in a full stock car.

All jokes aside, the Matterhorn track for the Subaru challenge is friggin awesome.
The Ferrari race is NOT easy. I thought I had a good lap, and I was 2 seconds off of gold!!
I suspect traction control will probably be required for top times.
Got gold in the FXX challenge. VERY tough and got it in about 15 laps. You have to hit your brake marks perfectly and cut the curbs to get it.
All these seasonals are kicking my ass. And it's not even fun plus with buying the cars and tuning I'm not even breaking even on money which to me is the main reason I run them. Man I wish I would have got the game earlier.

Yeah the seasonals are rough I tried to use my PreOrder cars as much as possible to save money. Still some of the seasonal events are just a loss like you said. Buy the car and tune it up and win half of what you spent. 
It sounds like Im not the only one hurting for money. I have been running the Redbull Juniors everytime I get down to around $300k.
I had tried the Redbull Standard championship, a couple times. Several times I rage quit, the last time I stuck through the whole thing several weeks ago I finished in 5th. Would be nice to actually be able to win this one because it nets a lot more cash.
I hopped on GTPlanet last week looking for a solution for quick cash....So it turns out the Redbull Standards come with RACE HARD tires by default, but the championship allows you to run up to RACE SOFT tires. You can switch them before you start the championship and it makes the car infinitely more easy to drive. Almost as easy as the Redbull Junior car just faster, and the championship only takes a half hour to complete.
RB Juniors come with RS tires, not sure why they would stick RH on the much faster RB Standard car.
Also all the current seasonals were hard. I got fed up after trying them for a couple hours last weekend and this morning, and turned on that silly driving aid so I could clear them all for the cash and paintchips this morning.
The people that designed this things are going to make it so people get sick of it and move on. With out constant cash flow you can not progress through the game and or race on line. I don't understand why they think they have to "improve things" in GT6 when the reality is they are making is not so much fun. Don't you play with your PS3 and GT6 to have fun. Rage quitting and moving on will net the makers nothing but a bad rep.
I agree. Some of these seasonals are just silly at how difficult they are. And we are pretty good drivers and I still barely get gold on some of these. It's kinda off putting.
They had a real winner on GT5. I wish there was an option that let you have all the cars you want for on line play and practice or made earning $$$$ much easier. Then separate the "game" part and let us do the seasonals and what not as the "game"
I do like the licensing part for on line play. That at least weeds out the wreckers and crash monkeys some what.
You know I may plug in my GT5 disk just to see what I am missing. Now that I have played with GT6 a couple months. I wonder what I will think of GT5.
One big gripe I have is the inability to turn off parts of the HUD individually. Sometimes I only want to have the lap timing information on and nothing else.

The Data Logger sounds interesting/useful to analyze replay data. Custom Rear Wings...might be cool on some cars. Off Track TCS is now disabled except for Sand and Gravel Pits. This is cool I am sure the drifters will love this.
I still want that new track though.
There is a neat feature on the bottom right of the screen: a Fastest lap tracker. As in fast guy overall ;)
The spoilers are useless.
yeah im glad they added the fastest lap. last update they made it so you could only see your own fast laps at least in qualifying.
The wing thing is kinda neat. You can change the height and width of the wing, so you can make it look less dumb than with the generic wings. However, none of that stuff actually changes the amount of downforce available. Boooooooooooooooo

Seasonals are insane just like you guys mentioned. The FXX was just too much so I put TC to 1.

The subie event was very frustrating. I went around d for an hour before realizing it didn't have a front LSD so I bought that and went to ABS 1 setting. Then I got it.

As if the existing ones weren't bad enough, yesterday they brought back the GT-1 for another seasonal. The money is decent, and you get a free car, but it still handles like a dump truck, so I'm not sure why anyone would want it. (As evidenced by the fact it can't be sold back to the game . . . I checked) If I was Toyota, I'd be demanding someone's head from Polyphony. Unless, of course, their new flagship sports car actually does handle like a 20 year old Camry on snow tires.

Yes the FT1 is not what I would want in a car in terms of handling. I did do a couple of nice drifts with it but I don't like drifting so that wasn't a big plus. After running the event the best I could figure is that it's purpose is to have drifts through corners. I did think it was adjustable with the throttle. Maybe putting SS instead of SH tires on it would bring it alive.
Still WAY better then that stupid Jag they used a while back. Even with a fully tunedable suspension, the understeer was hard to get rid of. (I think they may have allowed stickier tires, which was a lot of the problem)
The FT1 is not THAT bad when using copious amounts of trail braking on stock tires. Turning ABS off is pretty much a must.
