I got a 9:43 on the Ring on sports soft, it's a really nice car to drive.

Maybe it would work for an online spec race?

Also, worker of the baels, you'll be happy to know that I have built a fast SHO.

I agree, a very nice car to drive. No handling quirks, very easy to drive, but very difficult to drive quickly because the thing is totally gutless. it's a great car to practice maintaining momentum, i'm surprise how quickly you can take corners, often wide open even when the game wants you to brake.
The last left before the straight (labeled "Kleine-Karussell" or small carousel if I remember german from college) I dove in at full throttle, got on 2 wheels exiting and nearly flipped the thing! I guess the car isn't as quirk-less as I thought.
Started another lap with warm tires now, flipped it over at " Hocheichen"
flipped again at Brunnchen, and again at Schwalbenschwanz... maybe some less grippy tires would be better.

I discovered that the XNR becomes useless with a supercharger.
More observations- Night racing at willow springs is crazy hard to see. The headlights light up the walls in the far distance, but not the cars directly in front of you, or the road, and barely the rumble strips. I had to race looking at the map half the time, I can't imagine trying to race without it.
Also, the rumble strips are high enough you can pull an 'initial D' somewhat, at least with the front tires to get an understeering car to rotate.
In related news, pulling the trick above in an FRS on sports softs can lead to a roll over...

My Evo III likes Willow Springs. Mostly because it has the mindset of "Overcooked a corner? No problem, hammer down and we'll catch them in the dirt"
And it do.

Ok, the Evo Tres' method of cornering Willow almost bit me in the ass.
High speed dirt, found a hillock and decided to roll a lot at 120ish. That was fun. Only lost 3 seconds, but luckily I had been cutting the entire ten minute race so 2nd was 16 seconds or so back.
Is there more freedom off track instead of invisible walls everywhere?
There is much more freedom, it's not an invisible wall 20 feet away anymore. They still exist, but just farther back. At willow springs you can almost offroad everywhere within the track. It's pretty sweet, and also sucky when you slide off unintentionally and end up 100 yards away!
buy something good? also i don't show you as online so I must not be your 'friend', I'm chimpwithwheels if you want to add me

Not from what I've noticed, but most of my offroad forays involve an overpowered rally box mitsubishi.
Yeah it comes on just like GT5 but it doesn't seem as intrusive, maybe I'm just used to it after gt5
It comes on enough for the drifters to complain about it lol
I am playing psn Jaynen
just kind of messing around a bit. LOVE willow springs it really looks like the actual track does and having driven it quite a few times makes me partial to it. Can't wait for the GPS logger so someone can do buttonwillow 13cw

This is the first I've heard of a Firebird Formula in the game. More details please.

So right now I'm doing the National A championship in my Dodge Ram; I hit 161mph at Bathurst.
Can you test drive cars before buying them? Arcade mode is setup weird where it picks the courtesy cars for you

I just started an online room if anyone wants to berkeley around.
Also do any of the cars sound better than the norm? or is the robotish sound kind of everything when driving (the startup clips in the garage are fine)
