Thank you! For some reason it didn't show up until I refreshed the page a few times. Thanks, google
Aircooled new vid is up. I think it is the best one yet.
I am going to be a back marker tonight. With my almost completer lack of knowing this track and the new wheel set up being the issue. My best lap so far is a 2.44 I think? I get lost on this track as it is so flat and there are almost no visual ques to use.

It is a long and busy track, but for me it flows really well. My biggest issue has been finding traction on corner exit out of all the slow corners. Patience is a virtue...
Some great racing last night!!! I got a look at the replay and it looked like those at the front were having a great time.
My new wheel has been an intresting learning experence to say the least. There is a really big learning curve going from the G29 to the MOZA. The biggest thing is that the G29 is much more like an arcade where as the MOZA (And I assume all direct drive wheels) mimic what a real car fells like to drive. After the race I spent a couple hours adjusting settings based on MOZA recommendations. MOZA has a video out that is specific to there wheel and Assetto Corsa. There is a balance you have to find. It is that you want to have the wheel turned all the way up so it can use the entire range and all the granularity. You then have to turn down the strength of the force feed signals back coming from the game. This keeps the range and granularity. I think if it as turning down the volume on a radio. You get all the range just at a lower volume. What I was doing was turning down the range on the wheel so it was chopping out all the high’s and keeping the lows very strong. For those that have never worked with one of these, the feedback is based on sound frequency and the volume of that frequency. So it you cut the highs you will loose the sounds (and the feel of the track) while hitting curbs will be as strong as ever and still rip the wheel out of your hands. The key os to find the balance of the sounds coming from the game (kind of like adjusting an equalizer) and then adjust the overall volume (strength of the feedback) of the sounds in the game. Ultimately you have to have a preset in the game that plays nice with a preset in the wheel.
Would I recommend a direct drive wheel over a G29? Absolutely. The speed of the feedback from the game is so much better. There is a slight delay between seeing things on the screen and feeling it in the G29. The difference is with the G29 you hit a curb and a fraction of a second you get confirmation of it from the feedback. With the DD wheel that delay is not there. You feel it as you hit the curb. Instead of getting confirmation of what your eyes are telling you you are being told by the feedback what the car is doing and it is in sync with what you are seeing on screen. This sounds like a small thing but it make a big difference in you ability to control the car. This also carries over in to things like feeling the front or rear of the car loose grip.
Interesting notes Dean.
The racing was really good on Wed. I didn't think I would do as well as i did in the first race, but attrition and faster guys getting knocked around helped. The second race i had a poor start and tried to over compensate to make up for it. That made me make more mistakes. Anyway, as always a fun race.
Due to the enthusiastic appreciation Dean has shown for his new MOZA setup, basically the straw that broke the camels back, I've been considering a new wheel and pedals setup for a few years now but direct drive was out of my budget, This next bonus season (so nearly next Christmas) I'll be buying a direct drive bundle of some flavor TBD at that time to replace my aging Logitech Driving Force GT that I purchased new circa 2009. Not that it will improve my driving per se, but it can't make it worse. Huzzah!
Highlights. I wasn't sure if I gave enough room on the corner spinout shown. It looks like the spinout was primarily caused by that curb though, which was pretty deadly.
I am hoping to get more seat time tonight with the new wheel. I have been further dialing in the settings and it is much better than last weeks race.
Results and Standings. Let me know if you see any issues. It looks pretty good to me.
Basic situation is that Colin has a 8 point lead on Celisuzu (with 4 more HC). Which means, Celisuzu has to win next week (20 pts, Colin still has an 11 pt drop to use), and Colin need to finish 8th or worse to lose the championship (7th means a tie).
A bit of a tight race for 3rd to 5th, and an amazingly close race for 6th through 11th!
Thanks, Air!
I know we've all bitched at various times about these cars/tires/tracks, but this series has definitely seen some good close racing!
Upcoming race is the finale.
Sounds like the next series will be the GT4 cars in the "testing" folder.
The GT4 cars are the easy button but I am open to other ideas. What do people daily drive? We could do a DD series. Two races per car then swap. It could get silly but also could be fun. I mean my wife has a H2 that I technically own.
Past and present just for me that I can quickly remember
H2
cls550
M5
saab93 wagon (with aero tune)
GL 450
Z4M

mercury zephyrs
mercury Tracer
928s4

sierra Denali
mercury sable (the original robocop car) I think it was an 87
80s Buick Regal with a 350. Looked like tge GNX body but it was the luxo model.

83 Firebird with the v6
65 t bird
These are what I can remember there are more. There are pleanty of good/bad cars in there to choose from.
ok so maybe tge GT4 cars are a better choice 😁
Is anyone else getting the "virus detected download failed" message with the GT4 file? I've tried twice and got this result... first time it's happened with anything off the AC assets folder.
Highlites. The Strange Things clip is something I wasn't even aware of and might be a glitch thing. Colin was twitching around on my screen before and the contact was strange, putting me into a weird skid. Colin disappeared off the map after, so probably glitching(?)
Interesting race for me. I just no luck at all. I did have a bit there with 4-5 cars that was some good fun racing. The first race I was a victim of the big glitch. The second race I really don't know what happened. I felt like I was hit from behind but I have no clue how or by who so another glitch thing?
It was a great series. I had a love hate thing with the 914.
Thanks to everyone that showed up. I think last night tied the single race attendance record or either 15 or 16 racers!!!
Next up are GT4 car testing next week and anything else people want to test. If The GT4 cars test out ok next week we will start up with them the following week. I am hoping to run some of the European tracks.

It was my breaking too late and tapping your RR just as you approaching the turn. (Sorry about that). It was a great series. Saw some great driving with those raw old cars.

By the way; Thanks for the personalized 914 skin. It'll be saved as my GRM-simracing memorabilia.

Ahhh ok that makes sense. You must have picked up a big draft or something. At least I now know it was not a glitch from the matrix or something ;-)
Welp. With the latest download being over 3GB it prompted me to clone my boot drive from my original 120GB drive that was way too full to download this pack without much gnashing of teeth to my new 2TB drive I bought two weeks ago for this purpose and was too lazy to install. Done and done. Looking forward to Wednesday.
