Next week is Barber Motorsports Park (Indycars just ran there). The track has a lot of elevation changes, so knowing the track is pretty critical. It's pretty easy to run wide on Turn 2 and 13, and Turn 8 is pretty hard to see (look for the cones).

Turn 13/14 is the hardest by far, I think 14 is the right turn on the crest of a hill and it's a reducing radius corner, pretty tight for the speed you'll be doing. You need to get a lot of the rotation done before you reach the crest and make sure you're close to the inside curb at that point, because you'll barely be skimming the pavement as you almost catch air past the apex.
Also you might not have thought of BMP as a bumpy track if you haven't tried it with something as fast as a GT4 car before...
In reply to GameboyRMH :
That whole final complex T12-T16 is super tricky. 12 will put you in the air if you're too tight, and 13 is over a crest so you have to get slowed down enough to keep the car from sliding off. 15-16 is uphill, blind and decreasing radius with not much in the way of references. It goes flat at the top, so the car gets really light again.
Barber is definitely one of the more challenging tracks we've run with these cars.
I think this weeks track is much better with lower hp cars. We ran Brad's mini here and I think that was about perfect. These cars have no margin for error. If you come over a ride to fast there is no making the corner on the other side. Running Indy cars here must be crazy.
I got my Drone Cam app working (nothing in this video). I now just have to figure out how to get good shots out of it, so there might be some pretty dramatic / goofy shots coming in the future.
The really funny part that I am realizing is that I use to be one of the really fast guys. But people have upped there race craft and the quality of the people we are racing is really good making me more mid pack. But this has lead me to having an absolute blast making my car wide. My inner "Grey Wall" is coming out. I had so much fun last week. Pro's curb jump ended my day (not really his fault just a racing thing). But up until that I was enjoying the art of putting my car where the others wanted to be. I fully expect to bet the boot in the future doing this as I can only do this if the guys behind me are up on the wheel. But dang is it fun trying to figure out how to place the car so passing me is really hard with out actually blocking. It is a fine line between the two.
Track Change after testing the F1 track. The track on the server is on our Google Drive. It is a fast-flowing circuit that I hope will be fun to race on next week.
Results and Standings: Sauces takes the lead but is it "too soon, too soon". Gameboy is still in the pounch position but also has a significant HC. Rodan might be within striking distance, but that will require some good finished for the last two races, which might depend a bit on his chemically unbalanced lead mechanic! Also note Sauces drop. He cannot finish worse than 5th in one of the two next races (no matter what his actual finish is).
Next up is Automotodrom Grobnik, Croatia (up in the tracks folder). It's a pretty simple, so should be easy to memorize.

Simple, but bumpy. And the kerbs are treacherous!
Sent the mechanic to rehab... we did an upgrade to our internet, and also replaced all the cabling from the receiver into the house. The old cable's outer layer was significantly degraded, so hopefully that will help...
I have been practicing on and off some and this track is so easy to over drive but if you don't attack it you will be 2 seconds slower.
If Rodan gets his "mechanical issues" sorted out he could cause some real problems for Gameboy and Sauce.
Highlights, with some gratuitous drone shots (still hard to control). Drillin seems to be the pin cushion this week.
For anyone not wanting to do the math, that is about 2.5 hours of practice for both Gameboy and Dean.
One of the newer drivers asked me if there was any secret on how to do good in the races...
That's alotta laps!
I try to get 15-20min/ day, which is a lot more manageable, but seat time is everything, especially with a track that's new to you. While learning a track, sometimes only 1 out of 3 laps is a good one.
I once read that hand/eye coordination skills improved more when practiced 20 min/day every day than when practiced several hours once/week. The idea being that you become fatigued at some point and end up just practicing bad habits. Dunno...??
Meanwhile....
[sun setting in a race paddock with various race car pit areas visible]
Haggard looking man with disheveled hair and a grease stained jump suit adorned with racing patches. One large patch, clearly partially ripped, missing some for the first letter, that now only shows "...AN RACING"
Muttering to himself something about "lug nuts", sniffing and rubbing his nose aggressive, he slips into the paddock of a race team and disappears into the shadows in the dying light. The camera slowly pans up to show the banner above the paddock, which clearly reads "Tangerine Torpedo Racing"....
