GRM Assetto Corsa Racing League - Mid Season Testing

Here are the prototype cars that may be of interest.  It's a pack, so I think its mostly balanced (?).  There of course was a video posted recently of these cars racing at Bridgehampton (though I would not recommend that as a test track).  The pack is up in the Testing/Cars folder.  Setting up a server with these as someplace like Riverside might be a good test.

I was thinking that in honer of the 24 hour at Nuremberg Ring we could do:

1:   2 - 24 minute of Nuremberg 

or

2:  A 2.4 hours of Nuremberg  (with pit stops for fuel and tires) 

Not sure if we would do the GP track or the big track.  (I don't know the big track very well). 

This would obviously be a one off event. Maybe on a Saturday night?  

2 would be fun.  And yes GP

Which is funny because I made the same mistake on Wed!  They are pretty easy to mix up.

Use the same GT4 cars?  We could clearly allow car swaps.  Would everyone run the Mclaren or the Audi? (Seems like those have some sort of speed advantage, though the Mclaren at least certainly has it's downsides).

Someone will need to do some at least preliminary tire testing, so we have some idea what to expect.  The tire app I have does give estimates of how long they will last, but I have no idea if it is accurate at all. 

I know that if I turn tire ware up all the way up you get like three laps at GPD. 

My app, for the Alpine, with the tires we are using ,at Nurbergring GT, shows:  

high grip: 2 laps,

Medium: 22 laps,

Low: 51 laps,

End of life: 71 Laps

Maybe I will set up a server tonight at GPD with the high fuel and tire ware and see what happens. 

If you do, I will jump in and post what numbers the app shows (hopefully the app is good and it's different).

Testing of the various cars at WG long course.

Testing tonight!!!  You don't want Air or I to pick the car for the next series!!!!  So show up and test with us and help us pick the car for the next season.  Otherwise, we could end up with double-decker busses (Yes we have raced them before)  LOL.

Do we really want this to happen????

Testing next week will consist of a series of shortened test/race sessions.  Probably 10 min practice in to a 4-5 lap race depending on track length.  They will be one-make races from the car selection we have been looking at with maybe a couple more tossed in.  After that, we will make a choice and the next season will start the following week.

And,  I guess . . ..   we will run the Alto also.   ;-)

I won't be here next week. Taking the girls on vacation.

I will also still be on the road this week.

I'm in for some more testing tonight.  Are we trying to narrow it down to a single make series, or maybe just two or three car choices?  The Le Mans cars were fun for testing but I don't think it would make for a great series.
