We recently ran a series with the Megane race car. I think it was the series before you joined us. So for now I think that should be put on the shelf.

No No , I hated the megane simply a horrible car , utter rubbish
In reply to dean1484: I actually started with you guys with the Megane race car, you guys just killed me with it. I'm shocked that I seem to be the only one that liked the Megane R.S. '08. I have another FF suggestion if you guys want to to consider a FF series.
I liked the Megane but don't care to do it again at this point.
I'm up for a GT300 or GT500 series, and wouldn't mind an FF series.
So here it is ,,, 1968 fiat 500 f full tune everything including oil change

I an not kidding. We just ran that POS and I am so done with it.
I am going to test out a few muscle cars and see if the new suspension equals them up a bit more.
I will also build a F500. We can test some of the spec cars mentioned, but Dean will have to make sure he has them before opening the room.
grabbed a few photos from the testing sessions last night. I really liked both cars. I could manage to be fairly competitive in both so long as I dont tankslap myself off the track.
what colors/numbers is everyone going to run? i have a habit of painting all my cars to match, then repainting them again. and again. but if i know what the rest of the pack usually runs ill try to stick with something different so we have a varied field.
If no one else is using it ill run #51. color still undecided because i keep repainting things.
In reply to failboat: We don't always use numbers on the race cars, but I will run 17 if we use the Lotus 111R race car. We normally run our color to make sure half or more of the field doesn't use the same color, especially for production cars.
proposal for an FF series, (if we are not doing anything with the mini cooper??)
Nissan mm-R Cup Car '01
RH Tires
Oil Change

Full Custom trans

Testing went well. The F500 has a lot of good aspects. Works great on large tracks, is small enough to run on small tracks. It's a wee bit tricky at the limit and hates curbs, but that's a good challenge.
Seems like the F500 and Japanese 90's cars (tuners) are essentially a lock. Seems like the Lotus is good for a non-tuner, so we just need one more non-tuner (or spec).
I forgot about the "real" mini testing. We might want to squeeze one of those in for Wednesday. They kind of fit with the F500, but I am a bit concerned they will be too slow. They will HAVE to be modified, so maybe start out with everything maxed out and maybe a spec Race suspension?
The Cup Car above sounds interesting also. Is it paintable? Is it fast enough?
I was going to look into some vintage type spec race cars (Z/28, Challenger etc), but that's certainly not a lock.
The mmr cup car is not paintable but is available in 10+ colors. With upgrades is pretty quick and still easy to drive. Still turbo upgrades available if we want it faster.
Everyone please bring a
Autobacs Garaiya 2002 (the street car)
Stock at 452 PP (no oil change) on SM tires.
Mudd and I tested this car in four configurations
Stock
Stock with power added to 499 PP (I will give the specific recipe for it in the room)
Stock with as much weight taken out of it as possible. Bough PP up to about 475 +/- if I remember.
Stock with all the weight taken out of it and then power added to get back to 499PP (again I will give the specific recipe for it in the room)
I am looking at this as a possible non tuner car.
It is a much more mellow Lotus. Handeling is really nice out of the box. What Mudd and I determined is that weight is much more important than power.
We ran the stock weight car at 499 pp and then we took all the power out and added full lightness to it and there is a 25pp difference or so but lap times were almost identical.
The biggest difference with things is the power over steer. For me with a wheel I wanted more of it. For Mudd with a controller the car was more of a handfull

Great Photos!!!!!! Keep them comming!!!! I really like them and I know that it takes some time to do.
Happy to provide the service
I am on controller for the time being, even with the Lotus it was loose as you would expect an MR to be but I found it pretty easy to handle. Not quite as treacherous as the 500. I do have a nice suspension tune on the 500 that I got from the GT planet tuning library. Easy to drive almost all the time but when the car gets upset and slides you still have to be smooth with your inputs.
I need to start buying some of these cars and see what's what. The F500 looks like fun, as does the Lotus.
I don't usually number my cars, but my car color this series is white. I was considering switching it up, but to more easily identify the Japanese 90's cars in the garage when I was testing I painted all of them white so I'm pretty well committed.
I had a list of Drivers / Colors / Numbers, but it's way out of date. The ones I remember off the top of my head are: Dark Blue & Yellow (me), Orange (Dean), Yellow (Argo), Maple Red (Mudd).
Dean, are you thinking of using the Garaiya in substitution for the Lotus, or in addition (2nd non-tuning series)?
I use olive drab if i manage to make a race. Ill have to read the rules for the japanese 90s cars and see if any i have already will work.
I think I am going to run pink this season since I am sure no one else is. with some minty green wheels.

Ya. I am looking for a non tuner car. As it stands I think we are reasonably locked in to the lotus as a non tuner. The f500 and the 90s Japanese cars as tuner cars. That leaves us needing a non tuner.
The Garaiya is a very easy car to drive at a reasonable pp. We may need to adjust the trans.
My opinion on the car is I like it with a little more power as it allows for more power over steer but I am really nitpicking. Any of the four options I noted. All are huge fun.
I think Argo nailed it with his observation that we have had the best racing in SS cars in the 450-500 pp range. So that I what I was looking at. Another I was looking at was an M3 series but since we just did the M5 I figured that idea should be shelved for now.
I also am looking at a euro Gt car series. Things like db9 the 599 and the like. There look to be about 10 or 15 of these cars that fit the basic criteria of big two door coup. Front engine. I don't know if they are competitive with each other. I was going to try them using the muscle car tune or maybe a minimum weight with a power to weight requirement. I want to see if a series can be made with these that does not have suspension tuning. Maybe use the grab bag rules with respect to being able to only use a car twice. I hope to test these tonight to get a better feel is it is a possible series.
