Seems like most here are on XBOX. You "MIGHT" get fewer people commenting on you mothers sexuality on the PS3 in online play, but that's not a guarantee.
Of note: if you go Xbox, it is highly likely Poop with pop your head off from a rooftop at some point in online play.
See- these are the kind of shenanigans I like. I don't usually turn mics on, so people calling my mother a woman of questionable morals is something that bothers me very little.

So- let's play a game of hypothesis here. Let's say I have both systems. Let's say I'm working on wheedling the wife into letting me purchase this game. What system would one prefer for it? The PS3 has the narrow edge in graphic superiority, and my Xbox has no HDMI (it's THAT old). More people I know play it on Xbox. I'd have to gut my Xbox HDD to play it. I have two ps3's tied to the same account, so I have plenty of room.
I have both, and I picked PS3. Mostly because of the one Blu-ray disc vs the 2 dvds for xbox. But I heard you install one so you only use the one disc anyways. That and Xbox online cost money.
Already have XBL, so whatever on that front. But I hear ya.
Oh and in addition to everything those of you short on cash have heard, although you will pay to buy the game, you will save money from all the time you spend at home avoiding any human contact in which you will spend money.

Funny. Randomly found it last night. It's aaaight. There's a boardwalk with a ferris wheel, kind of South west of the house you start in. Thought about taking a pick of it. Anyway, drive south, then west along the coast and look for the Ferris wheel. There's also a speedboat and some jet-skis there. I berkeleyed around in a bunch of underground canals in the speedboat last night.

RE: Killing cops to get there guns: Yeah, I'm used to that scenario too, but night before last (before buying a handgun,) I killed an armed cop with my fists, and didn't get his gun. Haven't tried since then.

If Trevor is the white dude, then yeah, I don't like him, and I don't like the missions. We'll see, I guess.

RE: Getting blowed up & E36 M3. I read something last night about car upgrades via the "Ifruit" app or whatever. They recommended upgrading each player's player-specific car first (smart,) doing ARMOR, and Bullet-proof tires first (also smart.) Kind of dreading even looking at the ifruit thing, as I haven't upgraded my iphone in waaaaay too long, and I'm scared the current ios won't support it, and I'll be pissed.

That's the one I found out near the Cult! It was fast. And handled good. Too fast actually. It became a big fireball on the side of a mountain

The Trevor missions SUCK! I have not completed one yet without dying. And the wanted levels are insanely bad. One star, and the cops shoot you dead if you can't drive away from them at all.
About this close -><- to sending this disc back to R* in the mail in little pieces.
I spent all last night completing them (albeit dying a lot) while nearly falling down drunk? My reaction times suck when sober too. The trick with cops is to get out of their sight (map stops flashing) and park in a lot or something.

Has anyone found guns anywhere, or do they all have to be purchased? Google is givin me nuthin.
I ran over some random dude and got a gun. also someone said they jacked a tractor and got shot at, so if you can get the upperhand on a tractor driver sounds like you might be able to score their piece.

Not me! I got stuck in a drainage spot on the mountain after I delivered this drunk douche and his girl to the Cult. Got out and started walking. After maybe 15 seconds I hear the Cougar snarl somewhere behind me. I thought, "Nooooo.. Come on there aren't animals that attack in the wilderness in GTA! That's for Red Dead!" Sure enough I turn toward the sound and see the Cougar charging me!! Shot the bastard while it was still 40 feet away. Red Dead Redemption trained me so well for that lol. Cougars are thankfully much slower moving in GTA5 than Red Dead! Then I found a really fast offroad truck. It was great until I flew off a cliff, bounced off the top of a 50 ft tree, hit the mountain-side and blew up.
TL;DR Car got stuck on the mountain. Cougar charges me. Shoot it in the face. Continued search for car.
Similar story...I tried using a 4 door caddy to get to the observation mountain tram thing, not realizing it basically turned into a goat trail, so I ended up getting the caddy hopelessly stuck and got to walking with no gun only to be eaten by a mountain lion. respawned at the hospital, stole a jeep, then finally made it to the tram. the jeep had trouble too but made it, so next time i'll try an atv or baja bug.

I don't like this tactic. I found after doing enough missions, you work up enough weapons that it isn't a problem. I wouldn't really worry about it unless your rampages end in being out of ammo. I shot to the head keeps the ammo surplus up.
2. I'm almost overwhelmed by how big the thing is. (THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID!)
Its so big she you'd have to use the Eiffel Tower as a french tickler.
3. If Trevor is the white dude, then yeah, I don't like him, and I don't like the missions. We'll see, I guess.
Kind of a pain in the ass to use him, but he racks up the weapons quick.

ifruit should work on android soon. I have made some pretty cool cars and added the armor E36 M3, then stored them in the garage. No idea about the iPhones. Never had one.

I used a dirt bike to get up to the top without realizing there was a tram...
Any hints on how to keep cars that you customize? I'll customize one and then lose it on a mission.

There is a beach area just south and east of that government installation that I mentioned before for the buzzard helicopter. I found that lifted truck on the beach there.

In a mission you risk that (I think). Outside of the mission park it in the garage or there is a garage up north in the city (garage marked in blue on the map) that you can park them in. Maybe you can pick the car up in the impound lot, too....

Stay at home parent- she makes all the money. Video games are one of her less enjoyed hobbies of mine. I don't really like working, so I tend not to rock the boat lol.

It was sort of accidental.... but it was strangely something we'd joked about. I never had a career path- I made money to do the stuff I wanted. Life wasn't about work for me. She had a VERY definite career path, and I stood by it for 5 years while she did school, we had a kid, etc. One day, she told me to quit my job and we'd manage til I got a new one- but then she jammed into a really good gig, and the more I stayed home, the more she wants me here. I'm not about to argue. Drinks at 2pm? HELL YES! She'd always said I could be the stay at home parent if we ever had kids (and we did, obviously. TOTAL accident) and here we are!
Anyhow GTA5! Now... PS3 or Xbox.....

Thanks for the tip Sperlo.
You guys don't like the Trevor missions? I find them challenging, but I like changing up my tactics and finding the best cover to complete them.
As far as 360 vs. PS3, I think it boils down to the same debate as always. If you really value multiplayer, go 360. If not, pick either. The only reason I went PS3 is because my 360 is getting sold soon.
