The Virtual Racing Federation site is now open, with a July launch date. With racing on both the 360 as well as XB1, on Forza 4 and Forza 5, our aim is to be the "fun alternative" to the hardcore online race leagues.

Series due to start include Sport Touring on FM5, DTM (In US Prime time) and "NAFFCar" (low-buck FWDs in C Class) on FM4.
You are all invited to give it a look, and hopefully decide to take a chance and race with us!
Nice to see some GRM'ers signing up for our first event: The Firecracker 100
This "open house" event, using the now familiar Vintage Trans Am cars for 40 laps of Road Atlanta, is an all comers event. This means that you don't have to sign up for the site, options for entry include sending me a PM via XBox Live or just letting me know here in this thread that you'd like to race. First 16 entries are "locked in", any one later than that would then be an alternate in case someone doesn't show up for teh race.
As our first race, the goal is an introduction to what VRF has to offer, and by using the Trans Am cars of the early 1970s, it is a great virtual way to celebrate Americana.
The builds can be found on my Storefront free of charge, look for any of the 561PI ponycars.
The Firecracker 100 went rather well, with a 12 car field of Vintage Trans am ponycars in race long battles up and down the scoreboard. I wish to thank the TGRM guys that showed up... and racerfink was most impressive in leading the majority of the race until an uncharacteristic mistake in the late going cost him the win.
Hope to see you in the upcoming NAFFCar Series.
Thanks for hosting a great event! Just wish I could have been more consistent over the last 12 or so laps. I think I turned more 33's than 31's over the last ten laps.
^ My pace at the beginning was just horrible, for no apparent reason. I ran in the 34s the first ten, the 33s throughout the middle, then finally found the 32s for the last dozen or so laps. Posted my fastest lap on the final lap, but no idea what it actually was.
When we get to actual series racing here in two weeks, the format will be much different: a four lap Q Session (outlap, two hotlaps, cooloff lap), a Sprint Race (roughly 10 minutes), and a Feature Race (roughly 20 minutes) The next long-ish race will be the NAFFCar series finale, as it will be a 40 minute mini-enduro with two mandatory stops.
Due to circumstances beyond my control (a butthurt shiny happy co-owner of the site) VRF is closed.
Thanks for the Firecracker 100 guys, but that site is going the way of a Malaysian airliner.
Well, that's unfortunate. Pulled the plug because of not much traffic in his first month?
I think he wanted it to be a FM5 site, and was jealous that there was much more FM4 interest.
