Well i thought instead of bumping my other thread that had very little to do with this project, I'd just start a new one.

Here's the bike how i got it

After a few hours of stripping/cleaning/killing things

V&H Exhaust pulled for a good wire brushing and painting

Carbs Pulled for a good cleaning and Dynojet kit stage 3 install

2003 Bandit tail and seat test fitted

Here's how the bike is sitting right now

Right now i'm thinking of trimming a few inches of the belly pan and building a fiber glass fill panel kind like this

Well scored a few parts of craigslist to day, they all came of a 93 CBR, only bad thing is they are missing a few bits here and there like one of the axle spacers and the chain adjustors. I won't complain to much because i only paid 100 for everything so i think i got my moneys worth

Well i did a little work today and fitted the cbr swing arm.

Everything stripped

The frame took very little modification to make swing arm bolt up, basicly i had had to grind the mount for the old swing arm on the right side flush with the frame and everything slid into place. I am going remove the metal sleeve inside the cbr swingarm and have it drilled out to match the ninja larger stock swing arm bolt. Also the stock chain lines up perfect but isn't long enough, I needed a new chain anyway so i guess i'll just have to find one about 2 inches longer.

The swingarm temporarily bolted on

No way to bolt up the stock shock any more so the factory mount had to go so i can fab up a new mount for the stock cbr unit

That seems like an awful lot of work--what was wrong with the original swingarm?

The factory wheel and swingarm could only handle a 130/90/16 but now i can run a 160/70/17. It was a cheap upgrade, i also a better back brake and much better spring/shock combo

Well i got around to building the suspension mount for the cbr shock today, its not my prettiest work (didn't have nay gas so it got flux cored) but its pretty damn strong (3/16 plate and 1x1 square stock)so at least it shouldn't get me killed lol. I'm still thinking about going back and gusseting it in a few places but for now i'm happy with it.

This one makes it look like $hit because of all the slag from the fluxcore wire i used lol

Since i havn't decided on the final look of the bike i wanted to bounce some ideas around and get some opinions

Leave the ass end exposed. Cut down the belly pan. Wire up a Speed triple or Buell twin lights and call it done. I do like the green/shark mouth. Do that.

Do you plan on covering the seat yourself? If so, go shop for some unusual color or patteren vinyl and then search for a paint color that you like to go with it. Maybe paint the wheels to go with the vinyl.
