Some of you may recall I've been on the hunt for a Triumph Bonneville. Well I'm now officially the proud owner of a 1971 Triumph Bonneville T120R. The bike is in Idaho and I'm in Texas so I'm having it shipped. If you've never shipped a bike before it's another whole new experience. Do not go through UShip unless you want a hundred or so "brokers" flooding your email or calling you promising you great deals on shipping your bike. The industry in unregulated so be careful. The seller and I both contacted bike dealers and they provided some good advice. Always deal with an actual carrier. I ended up going with Federal Van Lines. The total shipped cost for enclosed transport is $894. No hidden fees or fuel surcharges and your credit card is not charge until it's picked up. Everyone else will charge your CC up front. Anyway the bike started life as a 1971 T120R, it has had a complete and total restoration. It's been stretched 8" and dropped with a 750 kit installed. It's modeled after the Triumph Thunderbird and is appropriately called the "Blackbird". I've got over 100 pics on the rebuild but I have no idea how to post em. If I ever find out how to post pics I will.
