Who here has an AMA membership. If so, have you used the roadside assistance? if so, what was your experience.

Just trying to figure out if I should spend the $49.

Depends, will you need it? You're on GRM, so probably. It has saved my ass twice so far (car once, bike once), free of charge both times- although it does typically take several hours for the "assistance" to arrive. Remember, they'll recover anything, not just a motorcycle.

I never used it. I have a AAA that will tow/haul whatever I have. The AMA magazine is almost 100% dirtbikes, so no interest to me.

I let mine lapse somewhere around 1999. I have AAA RV/Trailer and it covers bikes too so I don't see any need to fund lobbyists who spend a fortune fighting helmet laws instead of something useful to me like capital punishment for turning left into my path

AMA magazine can be 90% street depends on what version you ask for. I wish they'd go back to 50/50 like they used to be.

Yes I have AMA. I need it for racing both dirt and road race. I have the road side but have not used it. I do use the parts discounts at bikebandit and others often.

Is the roadside a reimbursement after the tow?

No, it's "sit tight while we find you someone" and then a free tow- no charges for anything unless it exceeds the range of your coverage.

If you only want it for the towing, check your auto insurance policy. A lot of policies will cover towing(free)if you break down.

Not to sound like an AMA commercial but they do a lot of lobbying on the part of riders. They fight for holding the 10% alky rate as most motorcycles can't handle 15% and there's fighting for a ban on motorcycle only check points etc.

While I hate the fact we have so many lobbyist in the country and the system is rigged and broken we need the riders voices heard.

I got rid of it because of the lobbying. Could you imagine the AAA fighting for your right to not have to buckle your seatbelt? AMA is for no helmets and while I am normally against the government telling us what to do, I just don't think the vast majority of people understand how hard you can hit your head going even 10 mph.
