OK, the GT380 is acting up. It has seemed to pick up a vibration which begins just shy of 4,000 rpm and goes away right around 5,000. Also, my mid range power seems down, but Ihave top end. It pulls wonderfully above 5K.

The vibration is like a very fine buzz, rather than a vilonet vibration. It feels like it might put my feet to sleep while they are on the pegs.

Resonance? Try heavier or lighter pegs?

It's a two stroke, my GT250 would vibrate any bolt loose that I didn't loctite and put a lock washer on.

Make sure the engine mount bolts are tight and that there's not a vacuum leak on one cylinder. Multi cylinder bikes will vibrate bad if the carbs are out of sync and vacuum leaks are the leading cause of that.

In reply to Curmudgeon:

I was thinking carb, because my power is down below 5K, from what it had been,

In reply to Curmudgeon:

I tightened the couplings to the carbs (they were loose). Vibration is gone, power in the mid-range is back. Curmudgeon comes through again.

Thanks to EvanB as well for reminding me that things on these bikes (everything) vibrates loose.
