Pennies under $3100 OTD, leftover 2014 in red. Should make for a good pit bike and work commuter. Now to figure out luggage so that I can bring a couple bags of groceries home, other than a back pack.

I'm going to wait patiently for pics of mistanfo on the way back from his first trip to Costco via Grom.

It is hard for me to think about spending 3K on a grom. 1500, maybe. under 1k, yep in my garage. If you can deal with it as a tiny in town commuter though, makes sense. CHEAP to run, for sure.

#1 Problem with the grom........thanks to moped wheels/tires, you sit too low for most cars to see you.

I really wanted a grom.

Then I saw the upcoming Cleveland Cycle FXR and want that instead.

I'll be following this for your thoughts on them, maybe in a few years they will be cheap enough for me.

Hey cool ride, glad you got something that fits your needs. A fun little bike for sure, a big backpack might be your best option for luggage.

I think they're neat little bikes and Honda nailed it on the styling. I think it would make an excellent pit bike and it's something you can cruise around town on. Better than the typical one trick pony that is most pit bikes.

Trust me, they don't see me on my WeeStrom, and I look the drivers of 4x4 pickup drivers in the eye on it. That's why I ATGATT, including armored gloves and boots to punch or kick errant vehicles before they get too close. I did find a rear rack designed to hold a milk crate. Since that would be big enough, I might try to replicate it. I need to find bark busters that fit to help with colder commutes.

I want one, but even used prices aren't dropping yet. Talk about resale.

Well, imagine being on something even smaller....Groms have been involved in a few accidents locally due to this. Thankfully the guy that rides one with us wasn't injured badly. He's around 4ft tall, so he has it even worse than normal people.

Wow, the bike was made for him! I'm taller on the Grom than in any of my Miatas, and I have rarely DD'd anything large, so my head is on a permanent swivel. A friend does vinyl wraps professionally, I am looking for a second set of body work (fairly cheap even new) to do up obnoxiously, to help with the "see me" factor.

Indeed, even after getting hit by a car that didn't see him, he's still giddy over being able to actually ride. He can get up to around 70-75 on it.

Picked it up today. Drive to dealership was made interesting by automatic heating in friend's Avalanche that varied from hot to cold seemingly randomly, which made for fun since I drove through freezing rain most of the way. Since I returned to my friend's, we've had 8+ inches of snow, so maybe pics tomorrow.

So, I rode from Roanoke to Charlottesville, by way of Lynchburg tonight. Chilly, averaged around 52 MPH. Hit 63 indicated when I caught a draft off a passing truck :)

Oh, and 75 MPG on my first fillup. That was essentially full speed the whole time, and I'm about 260 ATGATT.

As mentioned, Honda Cub EZ90, 90cc 2 smoker with oil injection, electric start, and a CVT clutch. Pretty much my dream bike when I was 7 years old. I rode my friend's Cub the other weekend for the first time ever and now I'm on the hunt. I just found one near Boise that has been parked outside for a few years and it's totally ruined. Breaks my heart but I'll keep looking.

Despite my previous comments in this thread I bought a Grom today. Used with 1100 miles for $2800 out the door. I've only ridden around the block and up and down the back alley so far but it is great fun. Thinking about getting some slightly knobbier tires and using it as a rallycross pit bike as well as commuter.
