Anything decent and running is a good deal at $500.
Yes looks to be good deal. One thing to remember, In 81 or 82 Kaw swapped to CDI ign that same year the kick starter disappeared from the kz's. Later that year many service techs were plagued with bad starter clutches...1st few years you had to split the cases to swap out the clutch rollers. BTDT. Pop started the kz 750 i had for 3 years then fixed it and fix lasted about 3/4 of a riding season then back to pop starting. So moral of this is if he says battery is dead better bring one to check the starter.
Oh one would think just grab a shaft and kick pawl from older model but the bore in the main cases was not done. tried that too. Loved my 750 ltd rode out to Yellowstone one spring and worked at the climbers ranch for 2 weeks rebuilding the cabins.
The carb clean will be $500
Not if you do it yourself.
