This is my first time.

I bought a Corbin Gunfighter for my BMW R-90/6, that's a solo bucket with a conical tail. I got it and the hinges on the right side and the lock mechanism on the left are both off location by 1.5 - 1.75 inches. I contacted Corbin, told I have to contact the original salers person.

I did, he's in Sturgis and can't help me. Rediculous, this ain't a Mom & Pop outfit. I called three times, on hold for 20 minutes each time and then forwarded to an answering machine.

Emailed their "Contact Us" site, no response yet.

I called again yesterday, it's been four days. I end up talking with a girl named Corbin, yikes. She has no idea and claims some of the folks in the production area don't really know what they're doing; then the computers crashed and she was in the dark, even about me name which she asked for five times.

I'm not a bitchy consumer. Can't wait to see what Monday brings.

I'll be looking for a BMW R-90 seat pan that I can send off to Sargent for reupholstery, anyone have one?

Dan

I've had several Corbins and their fit was always a little 'have you actually seen the bike this seat is supposed to fit'. They're good seats once you got them on the bike though.

They definitely don't fit like OEM, but are pretty comfy.

I have a Corbin seat on my Kawasaki W650. I can't comment on the purchase process as it was on the bike when I bought it, but it fits perfectly. One thing about Corbin seats is in general they are really firm - the shape is good so they are comfortable, but it takes a little getting used to.

Oy! More conversation with Ms. Corbin, they have a NO RETURN policy.

Wait, you've got $400 and I've got a seat I can't use. WTF?

They might find a return policy if you paid by credit card and get the credit card company involved.

Their own website suggests that they should repair it under warranty. Here's the quote from the FAQ:

"What is the Warranty period on Corbin Saddles? Corbin offers a lifetime warranty on the foam, basepan and hardware with one year on the cover and heater units. This warranty applies to the original owner. Normal wear & tear or physical damage due to external forces (like your dog chewing it up) are not covered under the Corbin warranty. Any problem encountered with the material or workmanship of your Corbin saddle will be repaired at no charge to you. If you have a possible warranty situation, please contact our customer Service department so they may determine the cause of the failure."

I would call "not fitting the bike" an issue with the workmanship.

I have a Corbin for my k1200s. I bought it used and it fits great, so I have no issues, but I have heard other horror stories about corbin customer support. The prices are also insane imo, but I was unable to find a low cost alternative for the k1200s so held out for a good used seat.

I just redid my own original seat.

unstapled the cover, shaved the foam down, cut & inserted nice high quality foam. cost? $10 and an hr of my time.

I have had 6 Corbin seats over the years. two for FZR600's, a CBR F3, a CBR F4i, a CBR 929RR and on a Monster S4.

None had any issues fitting, they all fit like stock seats.

I really didn't care for the Corbin seat on the monster - it came with the bike and I never used it.

I would get another without question. I did buy two used on eBay and sell them for more then I bought them for when I was done.

Maybe this will get their attention

Everyone I have sat on has been extremely uncomfortable for the first 1500 miles. Then they are nice

In reply to Rusnak_322:

It's probably model dependent - I've had them on several BMWs and an ST1100, and at least the BMW ones needed "persuasion" to fit compared to the stock seat.
