When I travel,I carry a small air compressor(plug into my 12v outlet), tire plugging kit and can of sealer, and a small cheapo box of common metric wrenches and sockets(Harbor Freight). The kit I have fits in the bottom of a saddle bag. The compressor(apprx. 5"x3"x3"I found for $10 at Big Lots) and the plugging kit take up no room at all. I have a small baggy of various spare fuses,a hunk of insulated wound up 14ga. wire,a roll of electrical tape and a roll of duct tape. It sounds like a lot of stuff, but it all takes up very little space and it should cover just about everything but a major breakdown. Sometimes I'll throw in a spare qt. of oil, but I only used it once and that was for a riding buddy who had an oil leaker. If you don't have one, add a 12 volt outlet. It will keep the phone charged, power the compressor, and the cappuccino maker! I added an outlet and then went to Wally World and got one of those plug in adapters. It has a USB port as well as two 12v outlets. I can charge my phone, run a GPS and power my XM radio without a problem.I also carry an Atlas-GPS guided isn't always the roads I want to travel.Good rain gear is a must as well as a small towel. I always carry a spray bottle of protectorant that I use for cleaning my windshield-it makes the bugs come off easily, rain beads up like RainX but doesn't damage the windshield coating.Some guys like using Pledge for that, but the lemon smell attracts bees!Don't forget to keep hydrated and have a safe trip! PS-maybe a roll of toilet paper, too. Hey-you never know when nature might call.
Box of Clif bars. Smartphone. Bluetooth ear buds. Knife. Multi-tool. Roll of para cord. Small 1st aid kit. Hydration backpack (100oz of water). A couple packets of Gatoraide powder. Dark Ray-Bans. A change of clothes and shoes that aren't boots. A cowboy hat with 4" brim. 30 sunblock. Flask of Makers Mark. If reciprocity... a H&K UCP .40 S&W.
78 Goldwing? 8,10,12,14 mm combination wrench set. 4 bit screwdriver (small & large standard & phillips). Vice grips. Medium sized adjustable wrench. Allen wrench(s) of whatever size is appropriate. Small roll of electrical tape. Fuses. ~10' insulated solid core copper wire. Roll everything except the wire up in the rag. Tie it shut with the wire.
