The seat on my tracker has this thin pad that looks really nice but is it ever hard on an old man's butt. I have been looking into a gel pad and there's a lot of them out there designed to go over the seat, but what I'd like to do is completely replace the foam in the seat with gel so it doesn't look so funny. This means I'd have to be able to cut the gel to shape. Anyone done this and if so do you have a source for the pads?
There's a walmart pad that gets rave reviews on ADVRider

That's certainly in the ballpark $ wise as an experiment. Wonder if it could be cut down to fit under the seat cover?
I have one of those and it hangs in my shop. It's no better than the stock seat on my KLX.

These guys make them here in the USA and sell to most seat MFG's and on e-bay but cheaper to go direct.

I've seen dealers sell the gel seats at Sturgis and BBBBQ. You can get the pad over the seat, as you mentioned, or get the foam replaced with the gel. My friend rode with use to Sturgis in '07. It was his first long trip, despite riding for decades around town. He stopped fairly soon on the trip and bought a gel cover for his seat. He said it really helped. And that was on a cop bike, which are supposed to have pretty comfortable seats. I use a sheepskin cover on my seat for long trips.
The page 44dwarf linked has a pad which looks like it might be the right size. I'll give it a try and see what my butt thinks.
