I thought a few of you might find this latest project interesting. I'm running a vintage (pre 83/twin shock/air cooled) motocross series with this.
It started out as an 82 Qualifier "Endurocrosser"
I built it as a loose copy of the 1980 factory works bike, .
and added the oval number plates and white fenders for a more vintage look
I finished second and third in the last event, and currently second in points. I have to find a way to beat a really clean, fast 250 Maico, so some suspension work and a lot of practice is in order in the next few weeks.

Thanks for jinxing me. I went out for a ride right after I posted that and now I'm hobbling around on crutches, and can't lift my right arm high enough to drink a beer 
It wasn't on that bike, though.
For those that don't know what a Can-am is, it was the motorcycle division of Bombardier (Ski-doo), and they use the same kind of rotary valve Rotax 2 stroke motors used in the sleds. They're very stout, and this one is still on the original bore. I'll be doing some custom fab over the winter, but want to keep it looking period correct. Notice the left side kick. (the shift shaft rotates inside the kick shaft), stock Ohlins piggyback shocks, Marzocchi forks, and the little air scoops behind the number plate, in front of the tank. Can-am definitely did things a little different (K&N filters were OE), but this is a good handling, competitive and fun bike in the vintage class.
