In the spring of this year I re-wrapped the header on my 1998 Buell Cyclone with header wrap from Longacre, the bike has not been used much this year (maybe 1,400 miles) and is stored inside when not in uses. Last week I had the bike out and noticed the header wrap had “broke” in the middle of the tube? I thought this was odd as there is nothing near that area. The PO had done a poor job (loose) of wrapping the header but was hanging on and seemed to have been on for some time.

Is this normal? Will I have to wrap the header every year or did I just get a bad part?

This is from the spring of this year. (zip ties are from the test stage, metal band clamps were used)

No real answer here, but I have a partial roll of wrap leftover if you need some..

Woody, I might take you up on that offer as the rest of the wrap seems to be in good condition. I was just out on the bike today

Rather then wrap I've started using Tubing it much easyer to put on and takes bends with no problems. Check McMaster. It is not as thick so you may want two layers on the ends just fold them in about 1/2 to 1 inch and clamp over the fold.
