A new addition to the Shop of Good Intentions:
A 1973 BMW R75/5 All original, 72k miles. Rebuilt transmission, carbs, and tons of other work done for the previous owner by a euro bike shop.
I haven't had a bike in 20+ years, so the MSF 2-day class is in my near future. Future plans: No mods...just ride and enjoy.
I am a bit taken aback that the bike is younger than I am but is "vintage". What does that make me?
Helga, nice headlight !!
I put NGK plug wires on my R-90, huge difference.
Nice ride.
Dan
Yes, it's vintage, but look at it this way: in VA, 25 years old get's an antique tag, in MD it's 20 years. That's a human that isn't old enough to legally drink :).
Enjoy riding Helga as far as she'll take you, then rebuilt what broke, and ride her some more. I'm going to be trying the triumph Scrambler and T100 on for size at the bike show in a few months to have a similar riding experience, just hope that the wife finds one comfortable.
Very nice looking bike. Sure doesn't look like a 75K bike. It looks like it's been taken very good care of.
I loves me some Airhead, even if I don't use mine very often.
That looks like a very sweet bike, and /5s are very nice long-distance bikes, too.
You need a "pin up" photo of that with some dead-ringer for the secretary on Hogan's Heroes as "Fraulein Helga"....
