I rode it back to Detroit from Nashville yesterday, my first multi-hour ride on a motorcycle. Not bad, though my rear and knees are a tiny bit sore today. Hands are great though. The trunk really is spacious - I crammed in a couple changes of clothes, backpack, and many parts including the big front disc covers, which I think I'll put back on to up the nerd factor to 11.
What eng. and trans. do those have?
Does it corner decently?
Do the fairings and windshield protect you well enough?
Does it accelerate well enough for all traffic conditions?
Did you check the fuel mileage?
I've been curious about those ever since I first saw one but never had a chance to ask an owner.
Perhaps I'm not best to answer these questions as I've come from a 450cc Suzuki. But...
It's an 800cc matched to a 5 speed. I didn't really see too many corners, but it seems to outcorner my old Suzuki (not saying much). Windshield on this one is aftermarket - it seems to do a good job, the top of my helmet was all that was getting buffeted really. I don't think any motorcycle has a difficult time accelerating through traffic, so again I may not be the best to ask. I averaged about 55mpg at 75mph with a spare windshield and tire strapped to the back.

I haven't had a bike in 10 yrs. and I'm getting the itch again. I like that bike. I definately don't want another sport bike, one with forward controls, or one that won't idle under 1500 rpm like a highly modified cafe bike I owned years ago. I'd really like to get around 75 mpg though.

I loove the PC800. I couldnt find a decent one at the time I was shopping last year so I ended up with my Versys but I'd still love to find a nice one some day.

The funny thing about the Pacific Coast is that when they first came out, the styling was so avant garde they looked like they fell from outer space. Today, they look pretty much like any other sport touring bike.
