The only left throttle i can recall was on some Indians made during the war effort so the machine gun could be used while riding. the civilian models used it too for a few years.
Now left and right shifters that swapped back and forth until 74 when US law mandated any motorcycle had to be left shift right brake. I have both and jump between bikes on race days that are wrong foot shifted.
A This was my Roadster after mods and before I sold it.
Other than 500-performance, limited range, 3” of rear suspension travel, immensely wide engine cases, and no carrying capacity, it was as good as Sportsters ever got.
We bought my wife a 2016 CB500F ABS and it is a better motorcycle in every way. Very popular bike with shorter riders and older guys who want something light and easy to handle.
