Just made it home from executing a terrible plan: head out around the DC beltway during rush hour traffic in a severe lightning/wind/hail/heavy rain storm and ride a bike two hours back home through deer-infested country roads in the aftermath of the storm in the dark with both tires 10 psi too low. Anyway I made it so now my '01 SV650S is joined by an '09 FZ6. My back can't take riding the SV long distances so I wanted something similar but different. Found a good deal from a motivated seller and the bike only has 3800 miles. So far I'm loving it.
I haven't had time to take my own pics but here are some from the ad:

Bad plans build character! Good looking ride but is the riding position that much different to make a difference?
The riding position is probably pretty similar to a regular SV, but compared to the "S" the FZ6 is much more upright.

according to this you lost 15 degrees of lean angle. Probably MUCH more comfy
My neighbor is into mid-displacement sportbikes. It's amazing how much bike you can get for 2-3 thousand dollars!

Yea no joke. This thing is practically brand new, revs so smooth (14k redline) compared to the v-twin and looks pretty good to boot. Even though I love the SV, it doesn't make sense to keep both so I'll probably put it up for sale shortly. In the end it will end up having cost me maybe $1k to upgrade (12k fewer miles, 8 years newer, 25 more HP, FI vs carb). Just another reason bikes are awesome toys.
I approve of this change of steed. R6 is a good bike with nice ergos. SV650S has pretty bad ergos.
