I just added an '83 Nighthawk to the fleet. I bought it sight unseen, from a friend, after being assured it runs well, is complete, no rust and no issues. It was last driven regularly 2 years ago,and sporadically last year. It was so cheap even Mrs.Mini had to agree to get it! I'm undecided if I want to flip it quick, mod it, ride it or part it. We'll see when I pick it up next week.
Excellent! I whole-heartedly approve sight unseen additions to the fleet.

Fantastic bikes. You'll probably want to keep it, but if you don't they are easy to sell.
OK enough time has passed, pics or ban!

I've been pretty busy building a new house, but should be able to make the 300 mile round trip this week. Pics will be posted when I get it.

You obviously aren't really interested in this bike, screwing around building a (psssh) house...like that's important. So, you should give it to me.

Finally made the trip and picked up the bike. It does run, but sounds a little "funny" in the upper end. Sounds sort of like a worn timing chain does in an old Ford truck. Inside the tank is clean, all the parts are there, but it looks like it was painted with a paintbrush...and not very well! The seat is in great shape and no tears or rips, the chrome and frame should clean up easy enough, brakes work as does the clutch. All in all, not too bad, and looks worse than it is. I'll post some pics soon.
Just to let you know, people still want pictures so we can live vicariously through your new motorcycle purchases. My bike purchase $$ has gone to house repairs, so no new ones around here for a few months.
The 700S was my favorite of the Nighthawk lineup.
Then the 650 then the 750. I just like the way the 650 ran.
It's a Honda from the period when they had issues figuring out who to make a timing chain tensioner that would "just work". I'd check the timing chain tension and set it manually if necessary.
