About 6 years ago Mrs. Oldtin loaned out our Kaw. ex250 to a friend to get a little riding practice and take their test. It left running perfectly. It came back barely running and blowing blue smoke out of one side. 
Of course the friends had no $$$ or ability to fix - lesson in life there. Bought a used engine and tore into the bike. Cleaned everything out - amazing how bad just sitting is for a bike. Got it back together enough to try it out. It came to life! Still waiting on a part or two - I think I'll leave it naked. Restored some faith in fixing stuff.
