I rode a first gen 10R over the weekend, First off.... holy fidgity mother berkeleyer. NEEDS MOAR DAMPENER lol. Power was pretty light switch and freakishly fun, Would change the gearing for somthing street friendly, you know.... so you can wring the throttle past 1 gear without hitting 90. All in all it was (IMHO) like a grown up version of a R6. Peeky power with squirrel on crack handling. Very fun bike sir. Now its a toss up between one of those or a old 12R

Mine has the -1/+3 sprocket combo on it right now, and while it tops out around 85-90 in first, I want stock gearing back(100ish in 1st).
They're very fun to ride responsibly, but if you act like an idiot, it will end you.
I view them as a much more powerful version of the 675 Daytona that I fell in love with back in '07.
The #1 thing I've gotten from other first gen riders is "You must be suicidal for not having a steering stabilizer" though.....bar shake is definitely a problem with these.

Most new bikes need better throttles the G2 throttle tamer tube did wonders for my Ducati.

Ehhh, mine went the opposite direction.Stock was 1/4 turn, and I discovered a 1/5 throttle insert.
That's what I do on every bike I own. The faster the better for me.

Is it bad I want an R6 1/6th throttle insert?
Link to said throttle inserts?
I test rode one of those years ago before buying an even more frenetic, terrifying, squirrel on crack machine (1st gen FZR-1000).
IIRC it had awful drive lash at low speed/RPM. Somewhere between stalling and wheelspin was a tiny window you had to find if you couldn't engine brake or open the throttle a crack and keep it there. Gearing would probably help tons if you plan to ride in slow traffic.

With my 200lb ass on it, it'll still roll out at idle in first gear......then idle at 10mph or so.

The g2 unit I have shortens the twist a bit but has another benefit it slows the opening so "throttle tip in" is not as hard of a hit. Really helps in around town traffic.

Even with my quicker ratio, it isn't bad mannered around town.
