What guidelines do you use for parking your bike? I see bikes in designated parking slots, I see them on curbs, I see them in "nooks and crannies" on public proprerty. Looking for some guidance . . .

Designated parking spots.

Depends. At work we get three or four into one parking spot. In Boston or NYC everyone has their plate held on with big spring loaded clips. Park on/near the sidewalk and take the plate with you. A metermaid isn't going to bend over and run the VIN.

I try to use marked spots if at all possible. the tickets aren't worth it.

I can't stand it when guys park right next to buildings behind the fire lane markers.

If the lot has designated motorcycle parking, that's where I go.

Otherwise, in a regular parking spot. Solidly filling it so other car drivers don't feel tempted to "share" the space with me.

I don't park on sidewalks and the like. I'm sure it varies in different areas, but around here, the bike will be ticketed or towed for that.

lol saw some dr or lawyer's fancy painted up custom "hog" at the golf shop today parked up next to the store on the sidewalk (inside the fire-lane obviously)... I had a giggle...

when I had a bike it was in a standard parking spot...
