These are the things that keep me awake at night.

I've got an old CX500 parts bike laying around, and I've been thinking of seeing how much work it would be to mate a VW engine to that transmission. There was a Brazilian company that made a bike called the Amazonas, that was VW powered, but I have no idea what the trans set up was like in that one. Hotlinked, for your viewing pleasure.

I've seen some conversions that use the VW trans too. I would suspect that since it has an open diff, you could just put a gear on one side and bolt the other axle flange solid. I can't really tell what they did in this pic.
