Sport-Touring - Commuter Style

Wanting a new bigger bike. Particularly one more suitable for commuting and day trips, but can't afford the BMW yet

Wants: Fuel Injection (I may be dreaming here), Luggage capable, 600+ cc, Sporty Handling

Not Wants: anything that resembles a Harley, Cruisers

A few bikes that I've started looking at: Bandits, SV650, Ninja 650, ST1100/1200, FJ's

what other thoughts? Going cheap $2k - $3k area

My ex-wife rode a SV650. I loved it. I currently ride a 2005 Bandit 1200S. I love that one too. I also have a first gen Kawasaki Concours. Great old sport touring bike. Lots of them around for good prices.

Honda Pacific Coast. or maybe an older Kawasaki Concours. Yamaha Ventures and older Goldwings are good buys. Come to the dark side....you'll never go back!

Triumph Sprint - RS if you can find one. Nice torque, great sound out of the triple. Out of the ordinary.

Not looking at two-wheeled cars ;)

Kawi Concourse. Reliable as the sun, same design for decades (well sorted) inexpensive due to their numbers.

Now that I have a BMW, I wish I got the Concourse instead.

One more Concours vote, although an ST1100 has got to be getting old enough to be reasonable price.
