Hooray!
After an aborted attempt last weekend (we live on a bumpy, pothole-y road that was a bad mix with glasses) she put in contact lenses and tried again. Certainly not setting any speed records and a bit awkward downshifting at stops, but she got out onto a public road, kept it within the lines, and didn't have any "oh E36 M3" moments. She was using her signals, looking before turning, and lifting off the seat and keep her elbows relaxed when going over bumps. Although she only barely got up to the speed limit, her speed kept slowly creeping higher over the course of the ride.
When all was done she said she had been wondering what it would be like to go just a bit faster. I'd call that a good sign.

Congrats!
Mine is still in "parking lot mode".
And I still can't get my wife near the bike years later.
Has she done the Rider Safety Course yet? If not, I highly recommend it, when I first started riding I would have been petrified to go out on public roads. Then i took the course and It was as natural as anything, even riding on the interstates.
In reply to t25torx:
Yup. Did that a couple weeks ago. She is still very cautious.

I guess I'm in the minority here, but I really don't want my wife riding, and thankfully she doesn't want too. I've been riding for 28 years and have had some pretty bad accidents, most when I was younger and not as seasoned a rider, but I have close calls fairly often on my commute and I take comfort in her having that cage around her when she drives.
My wife seriously considered it, but decided that she loves the sights and smells of riding on the back too much. She would be too distracted to ride safely. Cool with me, let's ride!
Ninja 250 that I learned on.
WHAT? No 600? ZOMG! Those things are sooo slow. I keed. I keed.

Seriously. Even 600's are kinda small/underpowered. If you've seen a picture of a motorcycle before, you're probably experienced enough to skip straight to the literbikes. /stupidthingsihearatbikenight

I know. When I first test rode a 675, I felt totally underwhelmed.
