My friend has an 07 GSXR750. This thing has led a hard life and is missing much of the hardware that hold the body on. The previous owner was a hack and it appears the bike was pieced back together in a hurry for a quick sale.
Last week he got a wild hair to put a flame thrower kit on it. Even though I think it's a stupid thing to do I agreed to help him install it. Not satisfied with the results he has now decided to add a system similar to a nitrous fogger system to add fuel to the exhaust for more bigger flames. Somehow he has talked me into building this when he gets all the parts in. I'm expecting either epic flames or an epic explosion quickly followed by a trip to the ER. Either way it should be entertaining.
Friday he decided that while we had the plastic off the bike we might as well paint it. So I spent yesterday sanding and prepping all the plastics for paint. Not willing to spend a bunch of money for real paint, due to him having almost $500 in the explos...uh...flame thrower kit, he decided that cheap tractor paint from TSC was good enough.
Today I got the first coat on all the parts. Even though I have my doubts about this paint it actually is looking decent so far. Here are the pictures from today, I'll update when we get the bike put back together and likely again after the massive fir/explosion. He decided that he wanted to paint it orange and white because he is a huge Tennessee Vols fan.

Nice and shiny looking so far! Are you spraying that? In your house? ;-)
No we moved them in because it's very windy and this paint stays tacky forever. Some debris found it's way into the tacky paint but I think I should be able to sand most of it out before the second coat goes on.
Cool. Can't wait to see pics including the bike engulfed flames. Err, hopefully not really that.
Should have used this instead.

Is he planning on dumping extra fuel into the engine itself or the exhaust......because both are bad, mmmmmmkay?
Into the exhaust. He sent me a schematic of what he wants to do. I think he's crazy. I predict fuel pooling in the muffler causing a massive explosion and many skin grafts on his legs...
Flamer kits are far from uncommon, you see them a lot at the street rod shows. If he uses a kit, he's probably going to be ok. Rigging it all up from scratch by himself, maybe less so.

In reply to foxtrapper:
Still pretty pointless on a sportbike though........then again mine shoots fireballs on upshifts/engine braking already with the stock tune.

Got impatient and had to put it back together. Don't mind the seat, it was just loosely attached to see if the color would match. We will make an attempt at upholstering it for real later on. Didn't turn out to bad for $24 worth of paint. It is very soft and I still don't believe it'll hold up all that well. But it looks Ok for know.
That's the good side
He has a replacement in the garage.
