Once upon a time my friend Josh worked for a BMW motorcycle dealership. He bought a 1971 R-75 for $10 from a woman whose husband passed away. It leaned on the wall of my garage for five years while he tried to get paperwork for it. Finally, no paper, he wouldn't sell it to me, now it's been leaning on the wall of his Dad's garage for ten years now.
Josh is married and just had his second child, Dad says he doesn't think Josh even remembers having it.
I'm wearing him down.

Josh will need a college fund someday, right?
Hang in there!
I'm friends with Josh's Dad. I told him I could take it, fix it up, drive it for 5 years, and put it back without Josh ever knowing.

Tell Josh's Mom that you are willing to get that "piece of old junk" out of their garage, it takes-up a lot of space.
I think for you the chase is more fun that the capture. Enjoy!
I once had a boss that had a fantasy of making love to a redhead. Talked about it all the time. He finally got a divorce and was afraid that achieving this goal might not measure up to the fantasy. No idea how this worked out because he laid me off 25 years ago.
