I have an 89 Kawisaki EX500 sitting in my shop. 8K miles, great body work. I bought it new, moved away, couldnt take it with me, got maried. Then when I settled in one place I have a 4 year old daughter and my wife doesnt want me to ride it. (cant say I blame her considering Atlanta traffic) The problem is I dont have a title, not lost as I never got one.
What to do with it? Any suggestions?
get it titled and send it my way...im looking for a bike project.
Isnt GA an ieasy state to get a title?
you bought it new, and never got a title? you should have some type of documentation, or could get it from the state/county that you were in when you bought it. With that you should be able to get a title issued/reprinted.
Sell it to me at a low low price. All you need down here is a bill of sale!

use it in a locost. I have to admit that lately I have been daydreaming about building a bike-engined replica of a 1920s boat tail bugatti racer.
500cc's of 8 valve fury wouldnt provide much motivation for a car. A shifter cart however... I

Track bike. You won't be fast, but you'll have fun. And you aviod the traffic issue.
how did you run up 8K miles with out titling it?
Title just never showed up. Holding company is long gone and I dont even know if one was ever issued. When i asked the state they looked at me like I was crazier than I realy am and couldnt aswer me. Guess one was never issued. Or the state workers dont know their asses from their elbows.

Find a suitable frame that does have a title, and swap all the usable parts into it.
Sell it to someone starting out, you'll sleep better knowing you helped someone out and know your wife is happy.

I've had Bugatti dreams for a long time, but I never thought about a bike engine. In my vision, it would have a Jag 3.8 or maybe a Quad 4.

In the back of 'OL Skool Rodz, there's usually a guy claiming he can title any car. I've never used him, but maybe he could help. I did this once before, and the first step was to do a title search in the state it last had a title. I gotta say, I had a year long ordeal that was solved the last day the state would allow my temp tag-awful, but being the legit owner, you're bound to have better luck.

So, you bought it with a loan? Then a title was issued to the lender. They should have released the lien when you paid off the loan. So, the DMV should be able to reissue a printed title for you.
That's the way it works in VA - I just did this for the Volvo I sold. Same situation - paid off loan, bank never sent title. Just went to DMV, filled out a few forms, showed them my driver's license, and handed them $25.
Michigan just requires the Sheriff to run the VIN with a Bill of Sale.....just throwing that out there
But, if you part it out.....I could use the forward controls and bar risers.
