Whitey Anderson Indian factory racer and worker had a nasty fall on Thursday morning and was rushed to the hospital where they found he has a bad case of pneumonia.

Played hooky from work this AM and met Millie at the hospital. I found out some interesting info about Whitey, I had noted that several post on the Internet talk about a Andy Anderson in the Yankee chapter of the AMCA. I asked Millie about that she said Whitey was know as Andy during his time in the service and afterwords it stuck until his fellow racers came up with the Whitey label. Only his parents friends call him Walter. There ia also a Andy Anderson who's around the same age from CT who also has a large collection of bikes so there might be misconections there too.

Well Whitey was able to talk some but not very well his breaths are short and rapid. It took some time for him to recognize me and Millie and son Art. I had brought some large photo's from 2006 Florida trip and Millie got Whitey to point out the people in the photos. He's very weak and can not keep his eyes open more then a minute or two but still tries to talk but it not coming out understandable. He asked Millie and Art if they know where to bury him. Millie said this was the best he's been since Thursday. That shocks me.

For those of you who've forgotten. Whitey Anderson was a factory Indian racer and factory employee, Founding member of the AMA and is a hall of fame member. Second in from the left. http://cycletownusa.com/899racers.jpg

Most of you guy probably never heard of these three New England boys but they had allot to do with racing and motorcycling in New England just the same.

Robert "Okie #92" O'Connell passed Sept 23rd. Bob was a life long rider and supporter of motorcycling Member of Tropic Racing. If he picked on you well you know he liked you...He like everyone. Bob rode every brand under the sun! He was the orginizer behind the ANNUAL COMPETION RIDERS REUNION DINNERS.

Frank Antonelli #61. Passed on Nov 6th. Former owner of Franks Cycle in Medford or Melrose. Builder of many champion winning Quarter Midgets. Winner of 1957 Canadian 1/2 mile flat track.

Walter "Whitey" Anderson #87 passed on Dec 1st. Whitey was a factory Indian rider and worker at the factory. He's in the AMA hall of Fame. Whitey raced mostly Indians but he'd ride anything at 78 (I believe) he was put on a Ron Wood Rotax for a lap at the Daytona short track.
