It looks awesome and comes with a free cat, what more do you need?

As a former parts guy I can offer that old Yamaha parts are outrageously expensive for some reason - and this is coming from a shop that specialized in BMW and Ducati.

That's what I was thinking too.

About the cat and cool looking bike. I did not know old Yamahas had pricey parts. What's the junkyard situation on these? Also, what kind of speed can I expect about this guy?

Yep, old Yamaha parts seem to be both expensive and hard to get - for some reason the one company of the big Japanese four with decent spares supply is Honda, the others aren't that great. Ebay will be your friend for this.

Oh, and it's going to be slow - I'd guess around 55mph, with a steep enough hill.

OK cool. All the streets around my neighborhood are 50 mph so I just want to make sure I can ride it there.

Hello my names 44Dwarf and i've been adicted to vintage yamaha's since before they were vintage..... Yam'y part are expensive but not outragus if you shop around or work at a shop...

Even honda NOS stock is dropping fast theses days and it's not lack of demand its do to the consumer protection act. The testing for lead content on all parts yes even metal parts! plastics etc is killing vintage supplys.

Sochirio Honda based his company on this: 'if you buy a motorcycle from me I will make sure you can always get parts for it'. The company has sort of slipped away from that over the last several years but I think that is the main reason that there's so much NOS Honda stuff still floating around.
