I kept seeing these things advertized in the back of Motorcycle Classics. I checked out a few reviews and it appears that this thing is legit. Sym, a Taiwanese company has ties to quite a few companies including building many Honda engines. Said to be like buying a new CB125. Nice to see another new small bike, despite the fact it costs $2999 out the door.

I'm Hopping the Sym Dafra 250 makes it here, too.

For another grand, you can buy a Suzuki TU250X which has fuel injection, more power and an actual dealer network that will supply parts for eternity. The Chinese scooter market taught me all I need to know about these off-brand bikes and getting parts for them 5 years down the road.

It looks like a straight up copy of the CB125. Right down to the swing arm.

Wonder if that seat would fit my 125

Sym isn't the same as the bad E36 M3 that China pushes out. They are actually pretty good quality wise. At least their scooters are. Hopefully they'll invest in a decent dealer network and parts.$3k for a 150cc bike is a bit steep when a Honda 250 Rebel goes for the same.

Looks like Sym has been making the CB125 under license from Honda for some 25 years. I am betting they have the mechanicals down pretty well. They just tarted them up for the US market.
