I've got a thought in my empty noggin to build something like a XR1200 using a TL/SV1000 engine OR something like a Nightster with the same powerplant options. I need suggestions for a frame for both.

The V-angle of the two engines might be a problem...

Plenty of "flat track" fiberglass for TL1000's there were / are raced on dirt.

Yeah, the TL motor was kinda popular in flat track a few years back, but for what you're thinking, an aftermarket frame would be required, I imagine. Not too hard, but not too cheap either.

Not to piss on your idea, but in my mind, the two motors (Harley vs. TL/SV) are of such different character as to almost preclude crossover. If I were building a street tracker or a cruiser, I really would dig the super low end grunt of a breathed-on Harley lump. The Suzuki motors are much higher-strung for a twin.

My bet is if you rode the new XR1200 or any vintage Buell you'd get the same smiles per mile as a TL. I've owned both. I currently own a Buell as the TL was too much bike for the street. I rode it everywhere at 30% capacity. Also, even with helibars, I'm too old at 37 to crouch into the riding position for longer than an hour. My Buell S3's riding position is much kinder.

If it's price difference you're worried about go out and find a well cared for Buell M2. They'll be about the same price as a properly used TL.
